Eleven NSCC’ers Building A House in Mexico Sunday, February 19 – Saturday, February 25

Early Sunday morning eleven NSCC short-term missionaries will be heading for Pittsburgh International Airport to fly to El Paso, Texas. Sunday will be spent get-ting situated, buying groceries and supplies and organizing transportation. On Monday morning they will enter Mexico to build a house in an outlying colonia near Juarez, Mexico. On Monday, the 15 x 22 concrete pad will be poured and the pre-fab construction of the walls and roof will begin. Tuesday through Thursday, the house will be assembled including a tar paper roof, stucco exterior, wired and dry-walled interior –including the installation of one door and two windows!

Pray daily for our group. The members are Tammy King, Michelle Cousins, Dale Riemer, Lisa Emmett, Doug Emmett, Kyle Emmett, Jake Klutinoty, Bill Croup, Isaac Huber, Erik Winters and Jon Ray, group leader. We say thanks to those who are going and to those who are sending. May the Lord be glorified in all we think, say and do!

“Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men”

Something I have come to gain an appreciation for over the past few years is the great pastime of fishing. Several years ago if you would have asked me to go fishing I would have told you it was boring and a waste of time, however there is not much I enjoy more than casting a line and landing those monster fish we catch at mo-raine. Last summer I found myself spending a lot of night out on the water with Walker. We did a lot of fishing, had some fun times and some serious talks. This week I found myself missing those times spent fishing. As I was reminiscing in my head, I couldn’t seem to get past Matthew 4:19 and this whole Mexico trip. Jesus said, you fish for striped bass and crappies, but I will teach you to fish for men and women. The work of the Church, the work of a Christian is to fish men and women out of the sea of sin. When Saul was con-verted to Paul his greatest concern was evangelism. He was not ashamed of the Gospel (Romans 1:14-16). We as Christians must have a desire to fish, whether it is building a house in Mexico to show Jesus love to a family or living out lives different from the world in Butler PA and bringing Glory to the father throughout our actions. You better be casting your line, because it’s the greatest work the church is called to do. -Jake
