Requirements for the CFI Workshop

• First this not a Flight Instructors Refreshers Course…FIRC• Your Participation in this Workshop Requires you to:

1. Have a “Non-expired” CFI Certificate and be able to present it.

2. The Instructor must be “Actively” instructing in the Wings Program

3. Completed one phases award within the “last 12 months”

4. Have provided 15hrs of Flight Training in a phases of the Wings.

5. Have provided Flight Training to at least 5 pilots and signed logs to verify.

6. Show an FAA Inspector the records of (4), (5), (6) above have been met within the 24 calendar months.

7. “IACRA” form completed before the start of the Workshop.

8. Present an unexpired local, state or federal gov.,issued photo ID.

9. Alternatively, applicants may Renew an unexpired F.I. certificate based on 14 CFR61.197 (a) (2) (i), or (iii).

Lithium Battery Fires

• The DOT rule, effective Jan.1,08 prohibits airline passengers from carrying in their checked baggage spare, loose batteries of ANY- SORT including AA, AAA, C, D cell alkaline batteries.

• In a 6 year period well over 100 incidents have occurred.

• Are only created only when an aircraft is creating lift.

• When the nose wheel is lifted on Takeoff the most dangerous part of the Vortices exist.

• Vortices do not cease until the nose wheel is on the RW.

Legal Stuff

• FADEC is not counted as Complex Aircraft Full Authority Digital Engine Control

• Solo Students,Sport and Recreation pilot activity is prohibited in certain Class B airspace. A list can be found in Part 91.

• Taking the Instrument practical test in a SEL only grants the rating for a SEL. Where as in a Multi PT the person now has both MEL and SEL, if rated.
