Coach & Artist: The Life of Pete Lunn > Reginald “Pete” Lunn was well-known in Delhi as a track and fi eld coach to many youth during the 1960s and 1970s, helping to develop the Delhi Legion Track and Field Team. He dedicated much of his life to serving the youth in the com-munity. He was also Delhi’s Citizen of the Year in 1973, alongside Cathy Lanoo. But the other side of Pete’s life that is lesser known is that Pete was a talented artist and painter. This was a gift he learned from his father, a well-known artist in Western Canada. He said of his father that, “[He} stressed the im-portance of drawing in painting, believing that what you can’t draw, you can’t paint.” The infl uence of his father would spur on his career as a sign painter and his passion to paint highly realistic images. Help us to celebrate the life of Pete Lunn, through a rare collection of his art.
