Description
• The communication without words. The face is used a great deal. Hand signals, shrugs, head movements, etc. also are used.
Non-verbal behavior is commonly called body language.

Non-verbal aspects were a significant part of communication. It can be used for: + Expressing emotion (e.g. smiling to show happiness) + Conveying attitudes (e.g. staring to show aggression) + Demonstrating personality traits (e.g. open palms to show accepting qualities) + Supporting verbal communication Non-verbal behavior also varies across cultures (such as the ‘ok’ finger O), although the six major emotions (anger, fear, disgust, sadness, happiness and surprise) are common across the world.

Human faces are incredibly expressive including the eyes, eyebrows, mouth, and any other movement. Emotions such as anger, happiness, hurt, and boredom are all easily expressed with facial movements.

How you carry yourself including bearing, stance, rigidity, uprightness. Whether you are leaning back comfortably, sitting rigidly on the edge of your seat, or leaning back with your eyes close, you convey a message via your posture and positioning.

People often attribute trustworthiness to people who speak while maintaining good eye contact and vice versa. Eye contact is also used to convey interest and emotions, and to promote rapport with the receiver of the message. It is also used to feign interest, mislead, and fake interest.

Especially hand gestures are rich conveyors of communication. the conscious gestures such as scratching your nose, stroking your hair, tugging on your clothes, placing your hands on your hips, and waving communicate messages advertently or inadvertently.

Touch is a powerful method of nonverbal communication. A pat on the back, a hug, a person reaching out to touch your hand in sympathy communicate with or without accompanying words.

The high five is a celebratory hand gesture that occurs when two people simultaneously raise one hand each, about head-high, and push, slide, or slap the flat of their palm against the flat palm of the other person.

In basically, a hug express the friendship or love. However, different hugs carry different meanings, for example a one shoulder hug is often a sign of friendship while a hug where one puts the hands on the lower back shows that the person may be in love or wants more from the relationship.

When people encounter people or things that they like, the rate of blinking increases and pupils dilate. Looking at another person can indicate a range of emotions, including hostility, interest and attraction.
