Which pages do we use a noindex tag on?

■ There are 5 types of pages you’ll want to add a noindex tag on:

1. Author archives on a one-author blog: your author pages will be the same and therefore Google will consider them duplicate content.

2. Certain post types: when you have pages that sell products and you need a custom page that specifies dimensions and weight. These are considered low quality pages.

3. Thank You pages: these are also usually thin content pages as they are designed to thank subscribers or first-time commenters. They have no content value.

4. Admin and login pages: your user doesn’t need to see these pages.

5. Internal search results: landing up on an internal search results page ruins user experience. But remember, the links on the internal search results pages are important so you want them to be followed.
