One Saturday afternoon Noah was so excited to visit his dad in the city with his best friend Jordan. “Noah, Jordan, we’re leaving!” His mom called.“Yes! let’s go Jordan.”“Coming!” Jordan, Noah and his mom all got into the car and headed to the train station.

The subway pulled into the station. Jordan, Noah and Noah’s mom hopped onto the subway. They sat down and the train took off. “I’m hot.” Noah said wiping sweat off his forehead .“So, take off your hat.” His mom said.“How often do you visit your dad?” Jordan asked.“Every weekend.” Noah said.Jordan put his hands in his pocket. He felt the money he got from his garage sale.“Are we almost there?!” Noah asked his mom.“We’ll be there soon. I know you’re excited.” His mom replied.

A few minutes later the subway stopped and they all got off. The doors closed and the subway headed back. Noah, Jordan and Noah’s mom walked toward the building. They rang the buzzer and the door opened. They went inside and walked up a few flights of stairs to Noah’s dad’s floor. They all walked around to find Noah’s dad’s apartment.“Which apartment is it? Jordan asked scratching his head. “2A” Noah said. They finally found it and rang the bell. Noah’s dad let them inside.

“Mom where did you put my hat?” Noah asked.“I don’t have it. I didn’t take it off the subway.Suddenly, Noah felt a knot in his stomach. He remembered leaving it on the subway.“Did you leave it on the subway?” His mom asked. “Oh um……..yes?”Noah could hardly eat dinner. He was so upset. His dad walked over to him.“Don’t worry, Noah. It isn’t that big of a deal. We can always buy a new one.” His mom covered her face with her hands.“Oh well, now that’s lost. Your dad is right, we can always buy a new one.” Noah turned around facing the window trying to hold the tears in.“It’s okay, things happen.” Jordan said.“I’m sure we can fix this. Trust me. Noah was still looking out the window. Jordan couldn’t stand seeing Noah so sad.

He pulled Noah off the chair.“Hey Noah, want to go for a walk down the block to cheer you up?” His dad said.“Okay, I guess.” They all walked out of the building and out onto the city streets. They all walked into a store. Noah walked into the sports aisle.“Ooooo look at that hoop! Would you want that or no?”“Would I!” Noah said taking it off the shelf.“Wow! thanks dad!”They went to the checkout counter and payed for the hoop. Just as they were about to leave Noah turned to Jordan, but he wasn’t there.“Hey dad where is ---?”“I don’t know.” “I didn’t even finish my sentence. “JORDAN!!!” Noah and his dad called.“WHERE ARE YOU????!!!?!

“I’m right here!” Jordan waved from across the store.“Where were you?” Noah asked.“I’ll explain later.” Jordan said. “Close your eyes!”He placed a cap carefully on Noah’s head.“Now, open your eyes! Ta-da!” Jordan shouted.“Wow. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”Noah looked down for a moment.“But…..but why did you get it?”“Well, I knew how much that cap meant to you so I got you a new one with the money I got at my garage sale! Good thing I wore these pants!”“Thank you, Jordan.” Noah’s dad said.Noah was so happy and he promised he would try not to lose it again. Noah would always want to be friends with Jordan.

The End

Noah and his friend Jordan are going on a little trip to Noah’s dad’s apartment. Noah takes his favorite cap with him and promises not to lose it. Noah misplaces it his mom doesn’t know what to say. Jordan on the other hand, tries his best to help Noah not worry about it. Will he find it or will it be lost forever?
