PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT: MasterCraft has identified a way to keep Bluetooth and remote radios ON after an engine shutdown and engine restart condition. Upon reboots, the head unit and the engine demand too much power, and the remote and Bluetooth are automatically cut off to compensate for such. Upon further review, MasterCraft has determined that the 2014 Fusion 205 stereo units are drawing more amperage than the 700i. In some conditions, upon shutting down, the 205 stereo unit can actually draw enough sustaining power that it would drain a battery in an unreasonable time period. To improve the remote and Bluetooth disconnecting upon reboots, and eliminate any concern about over-draw conditions on Fusion 205 units, MasterCraft is recommending a wire change on all 2014 XSeries and ProStar boats. There are two steps to this change on the XSeries. The first is to jumper the stereo power from the Start battery to the House battery at the battery switch. The second is to rewire the radio power circuit. There is one step to this change on the ProStar. It is to jumper the stereo power to the switched side of the battery from the constant hot side. NOTE: CONSUMER CHANGES: The radio will now be live and available for power, when the battery switch is ON and the key is in ANY position. This is different than the past, where the stereo could be turned on only with the battery switch ON and the key in either the Accessory (left) or Ignition (right) position. Please educate consumers to turn the battery switch to OFF every time they leave the boat. WARRANTY FLAT RATE CODE AND TIME: 9014010 .50 hr. ON ONLY THE XSERIES, THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE REQUIRED TO MOVE THE RADIO-ENABLE CIRCUIT TO THE RADIO POWER CIRCUIT. (This does not work on the ProStar.)

Step 1: Uncover/expose the back of the Fusion radio.

Step 2: Trace the yellow and red wires that enter the 12-pin con-necter from the deck harness into the 12-pin radio connec-tor.

Page 25: No.2014.JUN23.SB-005 Service Bulletin SUBJECT: Battery Switch … · No.2014.JUN23.SB-005 (Page 24) SUBJECT: Battery Switch and Fusion Radio Re-Wire Service Bulletin MODEL(S): All

Service BulletinNo.2014.JUN23.SB-005 (Page 25)SUBJECT: Battery Switch and Fusion Radio Re-WireMODEL(S): All 2014 MY Boats EXCEPT XStar

Step 3: Clip the red wire (known as the enable circuit) and clip the yellow power wire.

Page 26: No.2014.JUN23.SB-005 Service Bulletin SUBJECT: Battery Switch … · No.2014.JUN23.SB-005 (Page 24) SUBJECT: Battery Switch and Fusion Radio Re-Wire Service Bulletin MODEL(S): All

Step 4: Strip and mate the red and yellow ends coming from the con-nector together, through a butt splice to the yellow power wire from the deck harness.

Step 5: Seal off the red power lead with heat shrink or electrical tape.

Page 28: No.2014.JUN23.SB-005 Service Bulletin SUBJECT: Battery Switch … · No.2014.JUN23.SB-005 (Page 24) SUBJECT: Battery Switch and Fusion Radio Re-Wire Service Bulletin MODEL(S): All

Step 6: Test the system. Begin by powering the boat ON at the battery switch panel.

Step 7: Verify that the battery switch is switched to ON, the key switch in the center or “Ignition OFF” position, and that the radio can power ON. (It will work with either the head unit itself or through the radio remote at the helm.)

Step 8: Turn the key clockwise to the Ignition ON state.

Step 9: Allow time for the system to boot up.

Step 10: Start the boat with the “Start/Stop” engine switch

Step 11: Verify that the radio head unit and remote DO NOT power OFF when starting the boat.
