Ніхто не спасається сам і ніхто сам не бу-ває засуджений Бо якащо спасаємося то ми на чолі тих на яких мали вплив які ідучи за нами дійши до місця де немає болізні ні пе-чалі ні зітхання але життя безконечне а як-що в наслідок свого життя доведеться нам бути засуджені то ми стоїмо на чолі тих на яких мали неґативний вплив а які нам до-вірrsquoяли і сліпо прямували за нами

Не вистарчить бути охрещеними і миропо-мазаними і приступати часто до Пресвятої Євхаристиї Для нашого спасіння потрібно троха більше Потрібно святости Святими зможемо стати тільки тоді коли будемо ста-ратися робити добро не тому що мусимо бо Господь нам це наказує ані тому що інші нам так сказали але тому що з любови до Христа ми любимо робити добро Усі ми по-винні взяти на себе свій хрест тобто свої менчі чи більші терпіння і прямувати до свя-тости а по дорозі помагати іншим щоб і ін-ші могли якнайкраще наслідувати нашого Господа Станьмо усім для усіх Робім добрі діла завжди бо добрі діла це найкраща мо-литва і просім святого Духа якого зіслання на апостолів і на нас ми прославляли мину-лої неділі щоб Він дав нам силу зрозуміти наші завдання в житті Просім Його щоб зійшов освятити наш нарід і щоб нам приніс свій мир так дуже потрібний у сьогоднішні часи Хай нам дасть зрозуміти що в єдності є наша сила та що єдности нема без любови і взаїмного прощення

Так як перші Хрестияни могли бути свя-тими і ми можемо Спосіб як ту святість осягнути напевно буде різнитися від їхнього способу бо ми живемо у інакших обстави-нах і кожний і кожна з нас є інакшою осо-бистістю Не сміємо і не можемо 100 процен-тово наслідувати когось бо нічого з того не вийде Кожна особа своїм шляхом має прrsquoя-мувати до єдности з Богом до синівства Бо-жого Для нас святі є тільки доказом що можна осягнути царство Боже Придивляй-мося їм пильно але стараймося жити своїм

життям любови Хай усі в нас побачать Христа Поможім тим що потребують на-шої допомоги і тим сповнимо закон Хрис-товий і будемо на добрій дорозі щоб себе освятити на дорозі яка поведе нас до єд-ности з Богом і напевно сповнемо завдан-ня що нам їх учитель доручив

Щоб могти осягнути святість у нашому житті ми мусимо плекати свою віру ста-ратися розуміти її вимоги і жити нею

Віра є та що провадить нас до Христа яка остаточно дає нам участь у царстві Божім дає нам можливість дійти до неба

Де те небо є і коли воно в дійсності при-ходить Чи щойно після смерти після того як ми багато натерпілися Зовсім ні Тер-піння немає вартости якщо Христос його не освячує Смерть неє знищенням бо сво-єю смертю на хресті Христос смерть пере-боров Той що з Господом постійно живе той і по смерти з Ним буде жити бо він насправді не вмре а переставиться до вічного божественного життя а той що без Господа живе і при життю він мертвий і смертю помре і не буде мати участи у не-бесному царстві

Не шукаймо за небом десь там далеко у просторі чи в часі Воно зачинається вже тут на землі з нашим зачаттям а ми стаємо його учасниками при хрещенні Воно під-тверджується миропомазанням а доказу-ється євхаристією Різниця між Небом в якому ми тепер повині перебувати і Небом якого у вічності будемо втішатися є в то-му що ми тепер боремося за нього а в майбутьності будемо його посідати в міру нашої досконалости Небо оте царство Боже є в наших серцях у нашому внутрішньому спокою у нашій любові

Постараймося наслідувати Христа який ldquoвитерпів хрест не звертаючи уваги на сором і який возсів праворуч Божого престолуrdquo щоб ми удостоїлися стати учасниками Царства Божого

Itrsquos the third Sunday in June and you knowwhat that means donrsquot you HAPPY FA-THERrsquoS DAY To our Dadrsquos who are no longerwith us we send our prayer and we rememberTo our Dadrsquos who are with us we are so blessedand thankful to have them among us and wesend our prayer and our love Itrsquos a great timeof special meals and presents and we thor-oughly enjoy being made to feel so importantAll the gifts all the special meals or whateveryou do for your Dad whether he is alive or re-posed must come alive in the real meaning ofthe day That translates to the phrase ldquoTherersquosnothing more in this world that a father wantsto hear but his family saying ldquoThank youLove you Daddyrdquo And that says it allhellipgoodtimes bad times prayer togetherness but mostof all FAMILY All of us Dadrsquos try to be a re-flection of our Heavenly Fatherrsquos perfect loveand we try to give it our best shot according toour talents and personalities and for the mostpart always try to give one hundred per cent tobe the Best Dad

What a difference a week makes I wrote toyou last week from the peace quiet and beautyof Soyuzivka and now that time already seemslike an ancient memory Boy this week wentfast Part of it all was getting back in the grooveafter being away for those three days and thencatching up on chores and duties and preparingfor the weekend services Itrsquos now WednesdayJune 15 as I begin your letter

Pentecost Sunday was reverent and specialand green And no it was not Kermit TFrogrsquos feast day as one priest suggestedWe could ldquofeel the Spiritrdquo at Liturgy and it wasreally beautiful both on Sunday and MondayGlory to God in the most Holy Trinity Re-member how when the envoys of St Vladimir

first saw the Byzantine Liturgy they said ldquoWedidnrsquot know if we were in heaven or on earthrdquoI hope all of us get that feeling at least once ina while at the DIVINE Liturgy God truly letsus see heaven and we are amazed

Later in the day I got to go to my old stomp-ing grounds of Welland Ontario and the parishof St John the Baptist In addition to the cele-bration of the parish feast day (a few daysearly) they also were honoring their parish d-eacon Fr Laszlo Maroszian (See Anotherparish with a DeaconhellipHow blessed they are)When I was a deacon myself and serving at StMichaelrsquos parish in Welland I often served alsoat St Johnrsquos which quickly became a very spe-cial place for our family It is a small parishlike Niagara Falls and they accepted us withopen arms and great sincerity and we alwaysfelt at home there and always part of theirfamily

That was why it was so important to be withldquoFr Lesrdquo last week I knew him before he wasordained so the celebrating of 25 years broughtback that flood of all sorts of memories andcertainly makes me feel old Yikes I rememberit like it was yesterday and now itrsquos twenty-fiveyears later The parish was established in the50rsquos mostly of Hungarian Greek-Catholic refu-gees from Communist persecution Father Leshimself often tells the story of his own escape asa sixteen year old teenager making his way tofreedom through fields woods and streams allthe time avoiding the Russian soldiers on theirpatrols At one point he said he could ldquosmelltheir bootsrdquo as they were so close to him as helay face down in a muddy cornfield to avoidcapture He attributes his safety to his devotionto the Mother of God who led him and pro-tected him

St Johnrsquos is such a young parish but has al-ready has been blessed with two vocations FrLaszlo to the deaconate and Fr Miklosz to thepriesthood How wonderful These two clericstheir families and all those of that parish aresuch special people It was good to be there Af-ter the Liturgy all were invited to the parish

hall for the traditional feast daydinner Boy is that Hungarian foodgood And you know in this dayand age that if something tastes ex-traordinarily good itrsquos probablynot good for you But that sugarfat and salt which they soabundantly use is SOOOOdelicious Lipitor anyone (for youlucky ones who might not knowlsquoLipitorrsquo is a cholesterol loweringmedicine)

Near the end of the meal there isalways a raffle for door prizes Asusual they had a ton of thingsdonated as prizes from soap to wineto fruit baskets There was also a really specialprize this year donated by the Niagara ParksCommission which was a voucher for four peo-ple to enjoy some of the Niagara attractions onthe Canadian side such as the Maid of the Mistthe Butterfly Conservatory etc They saved thebig prize for the very final number call andguess who won Whoo Hoo Yep I did Andtoday we had four out of town visitors who wentto see the Falls and they got to go on the boatride I know everybody says it but I hardly everwin those things and there I am walking outwith the biggest prize Of course I when I wentto pick up the prize I was greeted with the tra-ditional cry to the priest who wins a raffleldquoFixed Fixedrdquo It was a lot of fun and thosetickets will be put to good use Looking forwardto ldquoa walk behind the Fallsrdquo

Tomorrow begins the ldquoPetrivkardquo or ApostlesFast as we prepare for the great feast day of StsPeter and Paul which is June 29 The fast thisyear is very short due to the lateness of Paschaso we have to begin in earnest and continue forthe nine days As you know the fast ends at theLiturgy on June 29

Another beginning happens on Tuesday the21st and that is the first day of summer Loversof the hot weather canrsquot wait I had all the hothumid stuff I wanted when we were at Soyuziv-

ka last week It was a sticky90 something YecccchhGimme 72 and nice breezeany day

Friday June 24 is the HolyDay when we celebrate theNativity of St John the Bap-tizer Our local parish of StJohn will be having theirparish celebration and all ofus are invited To all ourparishes of St John we sayldquoZ praznykom Happy FeastDayrdquo

Не шукаймо за небом десь там далеко у просторі чи в часі Воно зачинається вже тут на землі з нашим зачаттям а ми стаємо його учасниками при хрещенні Воно під-тверджується миропомазанням а доказу-ється євхаристією Різниця між Небом в якому ми тепер повині перебувати і Небом якого у вічності будемо втішатися є в то-му що ми тепер боремося за нього а в майбутьності будемо його посідати в міру нашої досконалости Небо оте царство Боже є в наших серцях у нашому внутрішньому спокою у нашій любові

Itrsquos the third Sunday in June and you knowwhat that means donrsquot you HAPPY FA-THERrsquoS DAY To our Dadrsquos who are no longerwith us we send our prayer and we rememberTo our Dadrsquos who are with us we are so blessedand thankful to have them among us and wesend our prayer and our love Itrsquos a great timeof special meals and presents and we thor-oughly enjoy being made to feel so importantAll the gifts all the special meals or whateveryou do for your Dad whether he is alive or re-posed must come alive in the real meaning ofthe day That translates to the phrase ldquoTherersquosnothing more in this world that a father wantsto hear but his family saying ldquoThank youLove you Daddyrdquo And that says it allhellipgoodtimes bad times prayer togetherness but mostof all FAMILY All of us Dadrsquos try to be a re-flection of our Heavenly Fatherrsquos perfect loveand we try to give it our best shot according toour talents and personalities and for the mostpart always try to give one hundred per cent tobe the Best Dad

What a difference a week makes I wrote toyou last week from the peace quiet and beautyof Soyuzivka and now that time already seemslike an ancient memory Boy this week wentfast Part of it all was getting back in the grooveafter being away for those three days and thencatching up on chores and duties and preparingfor the weekend services Itrsquos now WednesdayJune 15 as I begin your letter

Pentecost Sunday was reverent and specialand green And no it was not Kermit TFrogrsquos feast day as one priest suggestedWe could ldquofeel the Spiritrdquo at Liturgy and it wasreally beautiful both on Sunday and MondayGlory to God in the most Holy Trinity Re-member how when the envoys of St Vladimir

first saw the Byzantine Liturgy they said ldquoWedidnrsquot know if we were in heaven or on earthrdquoI hope all of us get that feeling at least once ina while at the DIVINE Liturgy God truly letsus see heaven and we are amazed

Later in the day I got to go to my old stomp-ing grounds of Welland Ontario and the parishof St John the Baptist In addition to the cele-bration of the parish feast day (a few daysearly) they also were honoring their parish d-eacon Fr Laszlo Maroszian (See Anotherparish with a DeaconhellipHow blessed they are)When I was a deacon myself and serving at StMichaelrsquos parish in Welland I often served alsoat St Johnrsquos which quickly became a very spe-cial place for our family It is a small parishlike Niagara Falls and they accepted us withopen arms and great sincerity and we alwaysfelt at home there and always part of theirfamily

That was why it was so important to be withldquoFr Lesrdquo last week I knew him before he wasordained so the celebrating of 25 years broughtback that flood of all sorts of memories andcertainly makes me feel old Yikes I rememberit like it was yesterday and now itrsquos twenty-fiveyears later The parish was established in the50rsquos mostly of Hungarian Greek-Catholic refu-gees from Communist persecution Father Leshimself often tells the story of his own escape asa sixteen year old teenager making his way tofreedom through fields woods and streams allthe time avoiding the Russian soldiers on theirpatrols At one point he said he could ldquosmelltheir bootsrdquo as they were so close to him as helay face down in a muddy cornfield to avoidcapture He attributes his safety to his devotionto the Mother of God who led him and pro-tected him

St Johnrsquos is such a young parish but has al-ready has been blessed with two vocations FrLaszlo to the deaconate and Fr Miklosz to thepriesthood How wonderful These two clericstheir families and all those of that parish aresuch special people It was good to be there Af-ter the Liturgy all were invited to the parish

hall for the traditional feast daydinner Boy is that Hungarian foodgood And you know in this dayand age that if something tastes ex-traordinarily good itrsquos probablynot good for you But that sugarfat and salt which they soabundantly use is SOOOOdelicious Lipitor anyone (for youlucky ones who might not knowlsquoLipitorrsquo is a cholesterol loweringmedicine)

Near the end of the meal there isalways a raffle for door prizes Asusual they had a ton of thingsdonated as prizes from soap to wineto fruit baskets There was also a really specialprize this year donated by the Niagara ParksCommission which was a voucher for four peo-ple to enjoy some of the Niagara attractions onthe Canadian side such as the Maid of the Mistthe Butterfly Conservatory etc They saved thebig prize for the very final number call andguess who won Whoo Hoo Yep I did Andtoday we had four out of town visitors who wentto see the Falls and they got to go on the boatride I know everybody says it but I hardly everwin those things and there I am walking outwith the biggest prize Of course I when I wentto pick up the prize I was greeted with the tra-ditional cry to the priest who wins a raffleldquoFixed Fixedrdquo It was a lot of fun and thosetickets will be put to good use Looking forwardto ldquoa walk behind the Fallsrdquo

Tomorrow begins the ldquoPetrivkardquo or ApostlesFast as we prepare for the great feast day of StsPeter and Paul which is June 29 The fast thisyear is very short due to the lateness of Paschaso we have to begin in earnest and continue forthe nine days As you know the fast ends at theLiturgy on June 29
