No One Likes to Age No one likes to age. We gain weight. We lose some hair. Lines grow on our faces. That’s the truth. Yet we seem to feel okay lying about our business headshots. We say things like “it’s okay to use my headshot from 1999”, or “I really don’t need a business headshot”, or “this selfie of me is okay”, etc. Potential clients buy from us based on honesty, integrity, reality, etc. They do not buy based on logic. Business people must understand this. Simon Sinek’s book “Start With Why” proves how humans buy anything. They don’t buy the “pitch”. They buy based on how they feel. Look into your own heart and tell me you buy based on logic. You can’t do it. So, in continuing... If you keep that old headshot of you back in 1999, you are showing a 20 year old photo with your perfect fitness, perfect hair, perfect. For that time in your life. A perfect lie now that you’re older. When they see your photo on social media from age 35, but meet you and now you’re 55, they will disconnect from you. If you can’t tell the truth in your age, who can trust you enough when you try to sell your business? This is especially true of women, who so desperately want to maintain their youth. Your headshot gives the signal about how you do business. Trust is at the key to this. It proves that you don’t go cheap and you have a strategy in your business. A lie is still a lie. Personally, I work with business people I trust. As a businessman, if I see your headshot on social media, I had better see the same face when we meet face to face. I will go almost immediately into retreat mode. Trust is the essence. If you want to connect EVERY time, get that headshot done right. Page of 1 1 Copyright 2019 Marty Moran | 317-912-4323

No One Likes to Age

No one likes to age.
