SUBJECT :- Admissions to Postgraduate Super specialty Courses Session-2014through Super Specialty Entrance Test (SSET) in the Health SciencesInstitutions ( Medical) in the State of Punjab.

1. The Governor of Punjab is pleased to notify admissions to Post Graduate Super-

specialty courses for the year 2014 in the Health Sciences Education Institutions

in the State of Punjab. This notification is in supersession to all the previous

notifications issued for admission to the post graduate super-specialty course.

2. Saba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab is authorized to

conduct the entrance test i.e. SSET-2014 for deciding the inter-se-merit of the

candidates. SSET-2014 is the eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as

the single entrance examination.

3. Admission to all super-specialty courses shall be based upon merit obtained in

SSET-2014 mandatory for getting entry to these courses under various

Universities and Institutions situated in the State of Punjab except the Minority

institutions.

4. The Saba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot is authorized to make

admissions on the basis of SSET-2014, as per procedure and criteria laid down

in the notification under "The Punjab Private Health Sciences Educational

Institutions (Regulation of Admission, Fixation of Fee and Making of Reservation)

Act 2006."

5. Candidate must not have crossed the age of 50 years on or before 3151

December 2014, relaxable in case of SC/ST candidates by a maximum of 5

years and for OSC Candidates 3 years. The upper age limit is not applicable to

sponsored/PCMS Candidates.

6. Candidates must possess a degree in MD/MS from a University recognized by

the MCI in the respective discipline. Major disciplines. are mentioned in

'Annexure A'

7. Candidates should have not taken more than two additional attempts in passing

his/her, M.D./M.S.

8. The tentative list of the available seats in each college will be displayed by the

Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab on the official website i.e.

www..punjabmedicaleducation.org; Saba Farid University of Health Sciences,

Faridkot i.e. www.babafarid.ac.in; besides concerned Medical College Websites.

9. The schedule of counseling will be decided by the Baba Farid University of

Health Sciences, Faridkot, keeping in view the schedule of the Medical Council of

India/Dental Council of India as upheld by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India.

10. The choice of courses shall be exercised by the candidate at the time of

counseling. There will not be more than two counseling i.e. neither third

counseling not extended second counseling.

12. In case of any dispute in distribution of seats for all institutions situated in the

State of Punjab the Director, Research and Medical Education, Punjab will be

appellate authority.

13. SSET -2014 shall be of maximum 400 marks, with 100 multiple choice questions.

Candidates scoring 50% in SSET-2014 shall be eligible to apply for admission

and for appearing in practical/viva-voce test. Overall merit shall be based upon

the marks obtained in the SSET-2014 and practical/viva-voce.

14. The practical/viva-voce examination will be of 100 marks and will be held at the

Medical College concerned.

15. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot may fix and charge fee for

prospectus, application fee, etc.

16. The application for Admissions, complete in all respects shall be submitted to the

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab.

17. In case a candidate once admitted; drops out or leaves the Post Graduate

(Super-specialty) course in between he/she shall be debarred for a period of five

years.

18. Fee Structure: (Provisional and subject to increase/decrease with subsequent

Notifications for 2014 session)

a. Fee for DM/M.Ch. shall be Rs. 6,00,000/- per annum. The fee will becollected on the spot by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences,Faridkot.

b. Hostel fee and security advance (Annual and provisional) for privateinstitutes:

I. General Independent Room Rs. 15,000 per year (Maximum) forsingle bedroom.

II. Special Room (Attached bathroom and AC) Rs. 24,000/- per yearmaximum.

III. Security Advance Rs. 25,000 or its equivalent (refundable at thecompletion of course.)

IV. Mess "charge"- Actual and to be managed by the students. (Thesecharges are exclusive of electricity / water but inclusive ofeverything else.)

Note: 1

These include all kinds of charges and nothing extra will be charged from thestudents under any circumstances on any account whatsoever.

The fee will be payable on annual basis and the institutes shall not insist uponthe candidate to deposit fee of the entire course in advance. At the most,candidates can be asked to furnish a bond/bank guarantee that they will be liableto pay the balance fee for the whole course even if they leave the institute/coursemidway.

19. In order to ensure completion of the prescribed courses (s) and period of study

as well as commencement of examination(s) in time, no admission (s)

adjustments(s) shall be made after so" September regardless of any vacancy

(ies) that might exist or might arise thereafter for any reason.

20. Any misrepresentation, false information, fake documentation and impersonation

for securing admission shall be punis hable under the relevant provisions of

Indian Penal Code along-with cancellation of admission.

21. For any dispute arising out of this notification or of the admissions under this

Notification, the jurisdiction shall be Punjab and Chandigarh only.
