Grade 1 Kyabram Fauna Park visit: in very wintery conditions our Grade 1s headed off to Kyabram last

Friday to visit the Fauna Park. The students have been learning about native Australian animals . They were able to see native animals in a natural habitat. They visited the education centre where they were able to have some hands on experiences. It was an outstanding learning opportunity.

Responsible Pet Ownership program: this week several classes took part in the Responsible Pet Program.

Students learnt how to interact with and care for dogs through an interactive session.

Grade 5 IMAX Museum: trip to Melbourne will take place on Wednesday, June 12th. It is a big day

commencing at 7:30am and returning at 4:30pm. This excursion is part of the science based theme for the Grade 5s.

Report Writing: Teachers have commenced the report writing for this semester. Reports will be completed

in preparation for Parent Teacher Interviews in the last week of this term. Parents will be offered 2 afternoons from 3:45pm–5:45pm on Tuesday, June 25th and Wednesday June 26th. It is imperative that parents attend an interview, collect your child’s report and discuss the achievements and plans for semester 2, with the classroom teacher.

Parent Teacher Interviews: will be held in the last week of term– Tuesday June 25th and Wednesday June

26th straight after school until 5:45pm. Letters are being sent home for families to nominate suitable timeslots. All parents will be assigned an interview timeslot to collect your child’s report and to discuss what children have achieved and will be working towards in second semester. Our office will be open for families to update contact details, pay term fees and other expenses, purchase uniform or other requirements. Please return Parent Interview requests as soon as possible please.

Prep Enrolments for 2020: students commencing school at St Georges Rd next year are required to have

their names registered at the front office prior to the end of term 2. We will hold enrolment meetings with families early in term 3 with our incoming preps.

Queen’s Birthday holiday: Monday June 10th—is a public

holiday. School will not be open.

G.V.Water Reading Champs Our friends for GV Water have started up their support for our reading programs again this year. Volunteers visit each week on Wednesday morning for one hour to listen to our students read. Every bit of extra practice with reading is a bonus and we are very grateful for this investment in our school.

No Fake Readers Award Students right across our school are developing their independent reading skills by engaging fully in reading for sustained periods of time (around 20 minutes uninterrupted). Last week’s class spotted for NO FAKE READING, was:

Goals: Putera Mohad- 3, Jacques Safari- 3, Shabbir Hussain -2, Yasin Abkar 2, Sajad Dhayool- 1, Arash Sharifi- 1, Farhan Khadimi - 1, and Aslam Sukirman- 1. Under 10’s had a great win over Numurkah on Saturday passing the ball well and showing good sportsmanship in victory. Thank you to the supporters on the sidelines for all the encouragement as well.
