It has been an interesting year at the Dickenson household. Most of you know that in December my Father, Mac Essary, passed away after a brief but difficult battle with cancer. Mike and I traveled to Oklahoma to be a part of the service and to help my Mom with the adjustments she faced.

Things were just returning to a new normal when, in March, we were shocked by the sudden death of Mike’s Father. On our way back to Oklahoma we couldn’t help but think; “Didn’t we just do this?” Needless to say, I feel like I am running a few paces behind schedule.

District Council just wrapped up, Women’s Conference is coming up. A trip to Africa, a Lead Pastor’s Wives Retreat and a busy schedule with my husband, make me sometimes feel like I don’t know whether I’m coming or going!

I know that most of you are in a similar place. There are so many things in life that happen whether we are ready for them or not...whether they fit into our schedules or not. Thankfully we have the reminder found in 1 Peter 1:3-5

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though

refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

When are we shielded by God’s Power? Always! But most perceptibly in the midst of trials. When is Christ revealed? When the authenticity of our faith is successfully tested. Who receives the applause when our trials perfect us? Jesus, who has risen from the dead and is our living hope!

My father and Mike’s father were men whose faith was built as they walked through trials. My prayer is that I follow in their footsteps just as they followed in those of Jesus. That He might be given praise, glory and honor as He is seen as the hope that lives in me!

New Mexico men and women will be traveling to Rustenburg, South Africa on October 18th 2012. Their mission will be to resource, remodel, rebuild and begin new construction at the Global School of Theology.

Currently, there are young South African men and women who desire to pursue advanced Christian education and Pastoral training. Global School of Theology is near to their living location but the school needs updating in order to be completely functional for incoming students.

The seeds sown in this project, through the hands and hearts of men and women sent from the New Mexico Network, will greatly impact the future health of churches and Christians in South Africa, the African Continent and the World!

Please join in this mission by remembering to pray for those who are a part of this project.

So, you can’t go to Africa but you are committed to praying for those who can go on the trip. Right now you may be experiencing the continued nudging of the Holy Spirit and wondering “what more can I do to help?”

Resources are needed in order for the Africa Missions Trip to be completely effective. Each team member will pay his or her own travel expenses and housing and food costs but there will be many building materials construction supplies that will need to be purchased once they land.

Your financial support is not only a blessing to the future students of Global School of Theology, but it will also be a blessing to your Christian brothers and sisters who are leaving our network to labor in Jesus name.

T!ch " WorldTurquo#e Trail

There are countless opportunities for New Mexico network Women to make a financial difference around the globe!

Projects include Christmas offering for missionaries; financial gifts to World missionaries returning for furlough; Cook Canyon Camp and Conference Center; AG National Projects; AG Family Services; as well as covering the costs of providing resources through the network Women’s Ministries Department.

Turquoise Trail is the arm of Women’s Ministries serving not just in financing but planning and going on mission trips. Trips to the Dominican Republic and South Africa, as well as local and state-wide trips, give women the opportunity to literally extend a hand where the need is greatest.

The women of our Network consistently prove themselves to be generous givers of both their time and money. Contact Women’s Ministries network Director, Becky Dickenson to find out how you or your Women’s Ministries group can work together to TOUCH THE WORLD!
