A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE TROUNSON
Joe Trounson lives in Miami Beach and trains dolphins every day. A typical
day starts at 8 am. Joe takes the bus to the aquarium and arrives at 8:30. He
checks the temperature of the water and then prepares the dolphin’s food. Each
dolphin eats about 4.5 kg of fish a day. At 10 am Joe always starts the training
of the dolphins.
In the show the dolphins do a lot of tricks: they jump out of the water, swim on
their tails, and catch fish from Joe’s mouth. Joe sometimes rides on a dolphin
like a horse!
Joe doesn’t work alone. His friend Carol helps him with the training and the
shows. Carol swims with the dolphins, but the dolphins swim better and faster
than Carol!
Joe and Carol finish work at 7 pm, but they don’t usually go home until later.
They stay at the pool to look at the dolphins, and call the vet when a dolphin is

Close encounter in the Australian desert
Three years ago Fay Knowles and her three sons were in their car in the South
Australian desert when suddenly an “enormous, bright, glowing object”
followed them and lifted the car up into the air. They were very frightened, and
in the end the object flew away.
Later, when they reported this curious event to the police, Sergeant James
Fennel didn’t believe them. But after he inspected the car, he saw it was dirty
with thick black dust, and there was damage to the car’s roof, and so he
believed! The family insisted that the “object” flew over the car and lifted it into
the air and then dropped it back on the road. They also said that their voices
changed at the time of the incident, and they spoke quicker than before.
Police say they received many other phone calls that day. A truck driver
explained that a bright flying object followed him. An airplane reported a
bright light in the same part of the desert. And the crew of a fishing boat
reported the same object flying not far from them.
