Message from Director

There has been a fundamental change in the decision making landscape in organisations of present age. The key challenge faced by the contemporary Industrial

Management professional is to efficiently transcend the ever changing business horizon. National Institute of Industrial

Engineering (NITIE) consistently endeavours to identify the evolving technological, managerial and leadership requirements

of the Industry; and provides a multi-disciplinary DLITE (Digital Leadership Industry Technology and Entrepreneurship) related

approach to channelize the latent potential of students.

The vision and mission of NITIE spell the conquering spirit of the Institute, defining the need of transformative education and industry inspired research in the field of Industrial Engineering and thereby bringing-in a manufacturing renaissance through its thought leadership and research. PRAGATIE, the core values of NITIE strengthens the spirit of the institute and integrates us with the outside world.

NITIE commemorated its Golden Jubilee with the launch of new diversified courses, carving a niche in building relationships at International platform. Our dedicated team constantly works towards expanding the reach to the varsities abroad through exchange and research programmes.

NITIE possesses a unique blend of talented faculty members, rich academic content, abundant industrial exposure and state-of-art infrastructure. Our PGDIM and PGDISEM courses are highly valued and respected in Indian and world arena; a clear testimony to this is ever encouraging campus placements. PGDISEM at NITIE has received a 3 year accreditation from the renowned IOSH [Institute of Occupational Safety and Health], UK in August 2013 thereby crediting NITIE to be the first institute in India to get this accreditation. Since inception, focus of NITIE has been towards education, research and strengthening the NFES (NITIE Flexible Education System) related knowledge base.

Our strategic location in Mumbai provides us with tremendous advantages in terms of distinctive platform for diversified learning. The conducive environment at NITIE supports its students to pursue the professional goals and promises an enriching lifetime experience.

NITIE has created strong associations with public and private sectors, research institutes and universities. These associations create bonds between NITIE faculty, students and external Research/Industrial set-up to nurture industries through novel and unique perspectives, innovative thinking and refreshing ideas.

Message from Dean Academics

NITIE has always been a unique institute in the field of higher education owing to its perfect balance of theory and practice. In a world where change

and innovation are the basic necessities, NITIE teaches its students to ingrain innovativeness as a way of thinking. Our students have been serving the Indian Industry and fostering the growth of business for over four decades. It is a source of pride for us that all our post graduate programs are doing extremely well. The success of the programs is evident from the fact NITIE has been and remains the preferred destination for leading national and multinational enterprises.

Flanked between two lakes, Vihar Lake and Powai Lake, NITIE provides students with an enriching learning environment where nature is at her best. NITIE also blends classroom work and hands-on industry internship. The programs strive to develop a holistic outlook in students that views the organization as an entity and not as a composition of fragmented functional areas. Our postgraduate programs help in developing leadership and interpersonal skills to help manage human issues, operational and environmental issues present in complex industrial scenarios, with emphasis on teamwork that builds shared vision and objectives. The students of NITIE are well received by industry as all the programs help them to develop expertise in handling scientific management principles, methodologies, quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to adapt, apply and integrate these skills to enhance managerial effectiveness.
