Dulux Professional enviro2 Interior FlatDulux Professional enviro2 Flat is a low odour, low VOC water based interior broadwall Flat. The flat sheen level will help to hide minor surface imperfections.

Note: Some extra bright base colours may require more than 2 coats, especially when painting over dark colours.

Dulux Professional enviro2 Interior Semi GlossDulux Professional enviro2 Interior Semi Gloss is a low odour, low VOC Interior broadwall product suitable for high wear, and ‘wet areas’.

PreparationClean, dry and sand where necessary.

Care/FinishingAfter application, allow the surface to dry for 7 days prior to cleaning. Do not scrub the surface. The surface should be wiped down with a soft damp cloth using mild detergent.

Care/FinishingSurface is touch dry after 20 minutes and re-coat after 2 hours.

PreparationSet plaster should be left to cure for 4 weeks prior to application. Wipe down with a damp cloth to remove surface dust. Thoroughly stir all products with a broad flat stirrer prior to application.

Frequently asked questionsCan Dulux Professional enviro2 Water Based Sealer Binder be applied onto set plaster? Yes, this is the surface it was developed for. It is suited to both set plaster and plasterglass.

What is the maximum tint level for Dulux Professional enviro2 Tintable Ceiling Flat?The enviro2 range can be tinted with up to 2Y/L of tinter (as per normal tinter limits for a white base). i.e. the product is strength aligned to the other white bases in the enviro2 range.

What is the main difference between Dulux Professional enviro2 Interior Flat and Dulux Professional enviro2 Interior Matt?The Difference between Flat and Matt is the gloss profile. The Matt will have a slightly higher high angle sheen level. The Matt sheen level sits between the Flat and Low Sheen sheen ranges. The Dulux Gloss Level Indicator system advises that Flat is between 0-2 units and Matt is between 2-5 units (when viewed at 60 degree angle using gloss meter.*Please note Semi Gloss is between 25-30 units.

Will enviro2 products burnish when cleaned with a damp cloth? The Matt product will have better washability performance than the Flat product i.e the Flat product is not recommended for high traffic areas. Although the Flat has been developed with materials to provide the best possible burnish resistance, it will be less effective than the Matt or Low Sheen products.

Will you require more than 2 coats when using pastel whites?There are a number of factors that will contribute to whether more than 2 coats are required when using pastel colours.

a. Choice of roller. ie. synthetic or lambswool, short or long nap. Tests have found that a synthetic roller achieves improved opacity over lambswool roller. Also, if the appropriate roller nap length (i.e. ~12mm) is not used, the opacity may be compromised. Low VOC products can sometimes appear inconsistent due to glossy peaks, flat troughs and lapping. This can be caused by shorter dry time which gives less time to back roll. These issues can be further accentuated by the use of lambswool roller sleeves which can produce a heavier textured film. In addition, lambswool roller sleeves apply less product hence lower film build and this can further shorten the drying time. For Dulux Professional enviro2 Ceiling Flat and Interior Flat we recommend up to 15mm nap length (synthetic), for Matt and Low Sheen 9-12mm (synthetic) and for Semi Gloss 10mm (synthetic).

Overspreading will also hamper the chances of achieving acceptable opacity.

b. Previously painted surfaces that are darker in colour, may require additional coats to achieve acceptable opacity. (Full obliteration using one or more coats of Acrylic Sealer Undercoat (ASU) prior to topcoating will deliver best results over dark or variable substrate colours, especially when pastel shades are selected).

c. Thinning the paint to aid application will also impact on the opacity achieved per coat of paint.

Any combination of the above 3 will further impact on the opacity.
