Adope Photoshop and InDesign

Design a magazine cover to showcase visual design skills, featuring a self-portrait and 3-5 articles about yourself.

First, I did research on Times’s style.Next I took a photo of myself and edited for levels, vibrancy, and made it black and white in Photoshop.After that, I masked the Time’s logo behind my face.Then I created an InDesign document and created an appeal-ing document with two contrasting fonts.

Create a quality image using photography and design skills, using a consistent color scheme in the image

First, I took a picture that matched my intended tetriatic color scheme of lime, indigo, violet, and gold.Then, I edited the levels, vibrancy, and specific colors of that image in PS. Next I opened an InDesign document and created shapes and used the color scheme.I then added a quote and used two contrasting fonts to create visual interest.

Adobe Illustrator and InDesign

Use consistent layouts and branding to create a letterhead and business card.

First, I created a vector based logo in Illustrator, using a split complimentary color scheme. Then in InDesign, I used two contrasting fonts to create visual interest. I also created shapes that matched the color scheme to help add to the flow and add variety to the design.

Adobe Photoshop and Indesign

Design a webpage using Adobe Photoshop and a grid system.

First I obtained permission from the owner of Christensen Body Shop to use their logos in the project.I then created a prototype of the webpage, using layers and layer comps. to organize my design and also to simulate what the webpage would be like.I had to create the “Christensen Body Shop” in InDesign be-cause the original logo at the source wouldn’t transfer well to Photoshop (Color issues).

Notepad ++

Code a custom webpage using HTML and CSS.

First, I took the logo I created for a previous project and resized it to be 300-500px on the long side. I then saved it as a PNG.Next I created a folder to contain all of the elements I would be working with (html file, png file, css file, etc).I next created an HTML document and inserted my PNG and tags. Then I created an CSS document and embeded it within the HTML document.After adjusting the fonts, sizes, and background color, I ran my documents through a HTML and CSS validators to check for mistakes. I then made corrections accordingly.
