As a member of the Rotary Club of Ka-polei Carol Kettner has co-authored a book, with Kathe-rine Garner titled "O`ahu Beach Access A Guide to O`ahu's Beaches through the Public Rights of
Way" . The book details 89 public rights of way to beaches around the island of Oahu that have never previously been published. Carol and Katherine recently gave a slide presentation about the writing of the book at the Kapolei Public Library were they shared the process of writing the book and numerous pictures of favorite accesses around the island. After receiving favorable reviews they were en-couraged to pursue other venues to share the book and story with people. Their book should be of interest to all people who enjoy the outdoors and beauty of our island. In other happenings, Pres. Nick discussed the “Ducky Dash” and progress to date. Still looking for sponsors willing to put up cash for the event as cash is the most important need at pre-sent. We need volunteers for the Hahaione Fun-fair on the 17th of November. On the 24th we will participate in the Hawaii Kai Holiday (formally known as Christmas) Parade. Our Rotary Gift Giving project for the homeless and those in need will take place in Waianae on December 8th and we will be giving turkey lunches to the Lunalilo Retirement Home clients on November 27, Thanksgiving Day.
WORDS OF WISDOM
The world is a dangerous
place to live; not because
of the people who are evil,
but because of the people
who don’t do anything
about it.
