EE Thematic Working Group Timeline This document will help guide thematic teams through the process of finalizing a set of recommendations pertinent to their EE Roadmap Theme. The monthly timeline is meant to help teams stay on track and evenly distribute the workload through time, so that a final set of recommendations can be discussed in our May 2019 workshop. December 2018 - Identify all potential barriers and solutions Objectives for the month: - Schedule call to familiarize working group participants with the thematic topic, review the suggestions that came out of the October 26th Stakeholder Workshop, and get to know one another. - Clarify and set team expectations. - Discuss effort timeline and outcome/deliverables. - Set a date for next team meeting. - Make a work plan for what needs to be accomplished between December and the next meeting. Questions to consider: - Has the group identified all potential barriers and solutions? - What research has already been done? What additional research is needed to more fully understand the topic? - Do other states have appropriate models for addressing these same or similar barriers? - What overarching questions are presently unanswered, but will need to be answered over the next couple of months? - How will the team set about answering those questions? - Are there Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who the team can reach out to for informational interviews that can help to inform directionality?

EE Thematic Working Group Timeline

This document will help guide thematic teams through the process of finalizing a set of recommendations pertinent to their EE Roadmap Theme. The monthly timeline is meant to help teams stay on track and evenly distribute the workload through time, so that a final set of recommendations can be discussed in our May 2019 workshop.

December 2018 - Identify all potential barriers and solutions

Objectives for the month:

· Schedule call to familiarize working group participants with the thematic topic, review the suggestions that came out of the October 26th Stakeholder Workshop, and get to know one another.

· Clarify and set team expectations.

· Discuss effort timeline and outcome/deliverables.

· Set a date for next team meeting.

· Make a work plan for what needs to be accomplished between December and the next meeting.

Questions to consider:

· Has the group identified all potential barriers and solutions?

· What research has already been done? What additional research is needed to more fully understand the topic?

· Do other states have appropriate models for addressing these same or similar barriers?

· What overarching questions are presently unanswered, but will need to be answered over the next couple of months?

· How will the team set about answering those questions?

· Are there Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who the team can reach out to for informational interviews that can help to inform directionality?

· Which populations are of express concern with regard to the thematic area?

· Does the group have representation of this population(s)? If not, are there individuals who can be invited to provide critical perspective and input?

Key action items to be accomplished over next month:

· Consolidate all barriers and solutions

· Set up calls/meetings with SMEs and/or representatives of populations of concern

· Recruit additional voices (if necessary)

January 2019 - Research feasibility of potential solutions

Objectives for the month:

· Meet at least once to report on efforts since last meeting and set intermediate objectives to be accomplished before February’s meeting.

· Continue to research all potentially feasible solutions.

· Consider how the team will prioritize or pare down the list of potential solutions over the next few months.

Questions to consider:

· Have new solutions been uncovered based on SME discussions?

· How will your group evaluate the potential solutions?

· Are there any concrete barriers that will prevent a solution from being implemented? Are there any solutions that we can rule out?

Key action items to be accomplished over next month:

· As potential solutions begin to solidify, collect data and conduct research on each, including:

· other states’ experience,

· potential costs,

· policy/regulatory requirements, and

· an impact analysis (benefits)

February 2019 - Continue deep dives into potential solutions

Objectives for the month:

· Meet at least once to report on efforts since last meeting and set intermediate objectives to be accomplished before the March meeting.

· Begin to pare down the list of potential solutions using the prioritization criteria developed in January

Questions to consider:

· Will each of the remaining solutions help the group achieve their shared goals?

· Have you considered all six pillars in your list of solutions (benefit analysis, regulatory reform, education/outreach, financing models, grid integration and equity)

· Can you identify one or more organization(s) to spearhead the implementation of the solution?

Key Actions to be accomplished over the next month:

· As potential solutions begin to solidify, collect data and conduct research on each, including:

· other states’ experience,

· potential costs,

· policy/regulatory requirements, and

· an impact analysis (benefits)

March 2019 - Prioritize solutions / perform impact analysis

Objectives for the month:

· Meet at least once to report on efforts since last meeting and set intermediate objectives to be accomplished before the April meeting.

· Continue prioritization and impact analysis for each of the recommendations that make it through the prioritization phase.

Questions to consider:

· Which solutions are short-term (less than 3 years)

· Which solutions are longer-term (over 3 years)

· What needs to happen (policy, regulatory, other) for each solution to occur?

· What key organizations need to be involved?

April 2019 - Preparation of final recommendations

Objectives for the month:

· Finalize the set of thematic recommendations that will be submitted and delegate team members to fill out the “Final Recommendation Template” for each recommendation.

· Submit final recommendation (template will be provided) to Jennifer Weiss ([email protected]) by May 3, 2019.

May 2019 - EE Workshop (TBD)

Objectives for the month:

· Report out set of recommendations to larger stakeholder group at the May stakeholder workshop meeting

· Work with EE steering committee to finalize EE Roadmap priorities
