ProfileCurrent final year Geography BA (Hons) student at the University of Northumbria at Newcastle working part time as an Assistant Business Analyst and semi-professional ice hockey player.

Relevant Experience/SkillsCommunication

Coaching the university ice hockey team enabled me to learn to tailor language tone, style and format to each individual.

During my degree I written clear and effective reports and essays which reached marks of 70%+.

3 years’ experience as a Training Officer in the British Army taught me to listen to others in order to correctly interpret commands.

Presenting to 100+ clients on placement enhanced personal confidence and engagement with clients.

Teamwork During placement I collaboratively worked with colleagues setting up, maintaining and

managing a database of global level employer information. Playing semi-professional ice hockey has developed my ability to accept joint responsibility

for team shortcomings and success. The British Army teaches selfless commitment by making sure the team agenda is before

personal agenda in order to complete missions and tasks.

Leadership During 3 years as a Training Officer I have lead teams from 5-30 people on various types of

training expeditions and small problem solving tasks.

Problem Solving/Pressure Within the British Army I am often entrusted with the task of crossing obstacles with limited

resources under timed conditions whilst managing a team. Practice missions in the British Army taught me to take logical and analytical approaches to

problems whilst dealing with the pressure of being under attack.

Commercial Awareness Placement taught me knowledge of how businesses work as I was required to identify

external clients’ needs which in turn lead to established and maintained productive partnerships.

Working on placement enabled me to work with a range of business scales across many industries within Engineering & Environment and with business’ outside of the UK.

Organisation Through placement I was able to organise meetings and events with global level and local

level companies via face to face and video calls. This involved an international fieldtrip for various meetings.
