A Hong-Kong-wide initiative that brings together NGOs, government, individual and corporate volunteers and civil society in collaboration to raise public awareness
around the importance of collective community engagement in helping to address social issues

A FAMILY AFFAIR
Serve-a-thon Hong Kong runs for a full week, across two weekends, in the lead up to the International Day of Families on May 15th
2017 marks the first year of this annual ‘service marathon’ that brings Hong Kong citizens together in the name of service

OVERVIEW
1. Nine days of service: Saturday, 6th to Sunday, 14th May 2017
2. Largest ever collective volunteerism-based event of its kind in Hong Kong
3. Supports NGOs and charities across Hong Kong through pre-planned and organized volunteer activities
4. Mobilizes the public to serve as individual volunteers
5. Helps corporates achieve community engagement and CSR objectives through participation and sponsorship
6. Recognizes participants and supporters through media support
SERVE-A-THON HONG KONG STAKEHOLDERS
NGOS AND CHARITIES
1. Provide opportunities for under-served NGOs to receive manpower support for ongoing or new programs
2. Create greater awareness for issues and beneficiaries NGOs are serving through volunteer activities
3. Introduce lesser-known NGOs to the public through their participation—ultimately leading to longer-term, greater support

1. Mobilize and empower the community to meet social needs through volunteer services
