About NGN Hacks Theme

COVID-19

Virtual Pitch Requirements

• NGN has selected Zoom for web conferences

• Get yourself familiar with https://zoom.us/

• Zoom Invitation will be sent out SOON

• Download Zoom on a personal device (laptop, phone, etc.)

• Test Zoom prior to competition

• AUDIO & VIDEO are both required during the conference

NGN Hacks Readiness

• Each team will be assigned a number ID to compete with

• By June 15, the final list will be published (based on your

responses to “pitch timing preferences”

• Zoom invitations will be sent out to all teams by June 15

• Contact us IMMEDIATELY if you do not have one by

June 16th

Virtual Pitch Format

• Pitch timing break-up

• 7 min. pitch (Follow the Pitching Guidelines on Slide 9)

• 3 min. Q & A with judges

Competition Day (June 20, 2020)

• Arrive 10 minutes before your assigned time

• Example:

• If your Pitch time is at 9:00 am

• Arrive @8:50 AM to the Zoom Waiting Room(VIDEO

& AUDIO MUST BE ON)

• Breaks will be at

• 10:20 AM (20 min), 12:00 PM (60 min), and 2:40 PM (20

min)

How to Check-in to your Virtual Pitch Room

• IDEAL: all team members check-in from one Zoom email,

and present from the same location (may not be possible

based on government mandate/parental consent)

• ALTERNATIVE: Each teammate checks in with a person

email, from different locations VIDEO & AUDIO ON

NO VIDEO ON – NO PITCH !

• There are no penalties/advantages for doing

either

• Moderator will allow you to check-in

Things to Remember for Your Pitch

• All members must speak – take turns one at a time (VIDEO

and AUDIO must be ON)

• Try to minimize background noises during pitch

• Your presentation will be recorded for future purposes

Upload Your Presentation @NGN.org Due Before June 19

• All members must register for a channel @ngn.org. Without this Step Pitch Can’t be Presented

• Signup @NGN.org account to get your ID

• Top-right side look for Blue UPLOAD button

• You will see purple button- Upload From Google Account

• Make sure you have Google account

• Only ONE Teammate must upload the pitch deck to Google Slides

• Again, all your teammates must register at NGN.org. Best do it now!

• Don’t read straight from a script!

• This is YOUR Idea – speak from your heart!!!

• Follow Presentation Format mentioned here

• Must complete presentation within 10-minutes

• Be prepare to answer any questions during/after presentation

• Recommendations for Slides

• 30 Font Size

• Charts, Graphs, Visuals – make your presentation unique
