Who are we looking for?To apply for our Young Talent Program, you have finished or are about to finish your engineering studies. You have a mature and professional personality with the ability to create and utilize a broad network. You also have the ability to solve problems alongside a strong personal drive. It is important that you are result oriented with a strong technical interest and an analytical ability.

You are fluent in English, both written and verbal.

We are looking for hungry, talented and highly motivated newly graduates to participate in our Young Talent Program. A trainee program for engineers.

What is the Young Talent Program? Every year, we recruit newly graduated students to our Young Talent Program. It is a two-year engineering trainee program at Tetra Pak - the world leader in carton packaging.

In the program, you will have the opportunity to both contribute to and influence the Tetra Pak development in a long perspective. Alongside this, your personal development is important to us. This is an opportunity to really challenge yourself and grow both personally and professionally.

Content You will become recruited to a certain position and department that will act as your home base. A manager will be dedicated to you and follow your progress from start.

The main element of the Young Talent Program is job rotations. These provide experience in several different areas, a broad understanding of Tetra Pak and opportunities to build a valuable network of people. You will be assigned to three to six job rotations, lasting approximately two to six months each, where at least one of the job rotations is to be set abroad, thus providing international exposure.

You will follow an individual development plan specific designed for you as a person and for the position you hold.

LUCA GHIDONI

Do you have any special qualities that you want to develop at Tetra Pak?I would like to further develop my relationship skills to become even better in team building and strength my leadership skills. I also want to understand different cultures and their behaviour. Above this I want to improve my technical skills and become better at PLC programming.

Is Tetra Pak right for you? Yes it is. Working here has enabled me to develop a greater understanding about relationships between customers and clients, and how to work together to achieve the best results. The opportunity to work with customers and a global brand is something I really want to grab with both hands.

BASED IN MODENA, ITALYWhat made you interested in the program?I wanted to get an idea of how Tetra Pak operates in a broader perspective. I also saw this as the ideal opportunity to gain experience of working abroad. I did my first job rotation in the United States at Rockwell, which is an automation supplier to Tetra Pak. The purpose of that job rotation was for me to learn more about Rockwell, both their products and the company, but also strengthen the relationship between Rockwell and Tetra Pak.

What are you doing right now?I’m currently based in Lund and develop software for a food processing machine.

“I saw this as an ideal opportunity to gain experience from working abroad”

The machine processes food before it enters the filling machines to make sure the products are sterilized correctly and fits all hygiene requirements before being packaged. I thoroughly enjoy processing since it is a completely different part of Tetra Pak comparing to where I usually work.

What do you think about working at Tetra Pak?The people here are always so helpful. The support I get from colleagues and managers is a key for me to successfully fulfill my deliverables with high quality. Tetra Pak is a huge international company, so I’ve been surprised and delighted by the help and encouragement I’ve received.

I came here from the university and I thought their resources there were good. But here they are excellent. I get experience from working on complex instruments and systems that would be hard to find anywhere else.

What do you see as your future career path?During my first year in the program I learned about different technical solutions. I have a real burning interest in technology, especially automation, so this is the perfect challenge for me. In the future my goal is to become a manager, hopefully within five years.

EMMA HÅKANSSON

What do you think about working at Tetra Pak? Tetra Pak is really a company of opportunities. You can make your own career depending on what you find interesting. You are allowed to develop here, not just your skills but also as a person. Tetra Pak is absolutely the right place for me.

What do you see as your future career path?I have recently chosen what I’m doing right now, so of course I want to work with it for a while. My current focus is to learn as much as possible about the machines and packaging and how they interact. If I still like it after a couple of years, fine, if not I’ll do something else in the company – although I’m not really sure what that is yet.

BASED IN LUND, SWEDENDo you have any special qualities that you want to develop at Tetra Pak?I’d have to say that I’m good with the materials aspect. Before I started here I didn’t understand how complex paper-board is. It’s a living material so finding out how to perform the right tests to understand how it behaves takes some effort.

I also want to get a full picture of what our company does to understand the whole value chain. This sounds a bit obvious, but what comes in at the beginning has a great effect on what comes out at the end.

What made you interested in the program?I was interested in specialising as a calculation engineer. I follow a job rotation scheme, and everything I do is about my main speciality of calculations. I really like the job rotations since I learn a lot about the company and about the different ways in which people work within my area.

What are you doing right now? I’m part of a team that develops new machines and packages. I’m using simulations to make our packages even better. Rather than making prototypes we do things virtually, it’s a lot more cost- effective. My main focus is on the package and how it is interacting with the machine. Right now I’m working on a project with our machines in Russia.
