This is a grid separating the text and images. It seems to be divided into eight across and something like four up. It makes the page have an automatically organised layout because it has to stick to the structure of the grid.

This is a blob or star used for drawing attention to something.

This is a drop capital used for making the start sentence more visible.

This is white space used to breakdown the page. Here its used intentionally to make the name of the newspaper stand out.

This is font is reverse or has been dropped out.

This is a spread because it goes over two pages.

This is a crosshead.

This photograph will have been taken for the article but it has still been cut out because its above the text.

This is also a pull quote.

Columns This is a landscape page because it’s a double page spread.

This is the header and it goes right round the page.

This is the strap line.

This would be the base line.
