IN JAIL Peter Stillman, a successful researcher is going to jail! !The famous, successful businessman Peter Stillman, goes to jail after a long session in Court. At 2:00 PM yesterday he was dismissed from Manhattan’s Court and sent in a train to... Jail. But many of you might ask, why is he going to jail? Well, he was accused of domestic violence and for having a feral child at home (isolated child for 12 years). !!

!Because the child’s mother died in a car accident and his father is going to jail, at least for now; the child will be taken care of. He was taken this morning to the city’s hospital because he was hurt with bruises and broken bones due to the domestic violence his father presented. In addition, this child Peter Stillman Jr. will have to have language therapy due to the lack of communication during the 12 years of isolation. He is getting a personal therapist that will give him the necessary attention due to his severe condition.!

!The police are currently investigating the causes and reasons why the man did this. It apparently seems to be about a language obsession and finding God’s language and the real words for common things, but nothing is sure yet; we only know that the police will take care of everything. The apartment that used to belong to the researcher Paul Stillman is now for sale. Now that nobody is living in the house the authorities are selling it. BURNING APARTMENT IN MANHATTAN

Today at 11:00 AM, firefighters were everywhere. St. Apparently, an apartment that belongs Peter Stillman, was on fire! According to the investigators, the fire started because Mr. Stillman was burning something and the fire got out of control. The fire started at his office and fortunately the last place it got was his son’s room.!

!The firefighters and the ambulances couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Here is a fragment of the testimony the firefighter gave when he found the child.! -Raul: “We searched the apartment as we always did, to look for people, pets, etc. and fortunately, the last place the fire came to was a very dark, little and isolated room at the other side of the house. So, we entered expecting to see nothing in there and we found a 14-year-old boy who was very skinny, couldn’t talk or move. I called for backup to help me take the boy to a safe place, and once there we saw that the boy couldn’t speak, he used some funny words and he couldn’t move. He looked like he lacked of muscles, as if he hadn’t moved in years. The ambulance took him directly to the hospital, but it was very shocking seeing a boy like that. The poor kid looked weird and insane.”!

!The causes of this accident, even though it’s not proved that it was an accident, are not concrete. The police are still investigating the scene. The good news is that the boy is all right and Mr. Stillman is being taken to court for the damage the boy has suffered.! !Sally Rophie!

THE FIREMEN DEPARTMENT

GETS REWARDED

The firemen department has just gotten a reward for saving a little child from a buring building. This child is the son of Paul Stillman the known researcher. Thanks to this noble action the implicated firemen have received a medal of honour. These two firemen (Raul Strauss, and Raymond Heine) have brought pride to this city. This reward is the consequence of 20 years of hard work and service the the New York community.!

DEAD!! Peter Stillman, a man just let out of jail was found dead after committing suicide. It is believed that he had come to New York to research a very controversial subject and was keen on finding the “language” of God spoken in the Garden of Eden. An investigation made by the missing man, Daniel Quinn reports a few of the bizarre theories of the now deceased Stillman. According to Mr. Quinn’s findings, Stillman believed that he could recreate or “find” the language of God. He had made previous attempts at finding this language, using his son (whereabouts unknown) and isolating him in a dark room for 12 years. !

The result of this outrageous experiment was Stillman’s sentence to jail and the finding of a traumatized child. The child had been put in special rehabilitation methods and after 9 years the doctors were certain that he would never be normal. During this time, Stillman was locked up in Jail and was recently let out for good conduct. He had his freedom, only to kill himself a few months after. The reasons to why Stillman killed himself are still unknown and with a dead man, a traumatized son, and a missing writer; things are bound to get much more unusual in this unconventional case.!

FERAL CHILDEREN: REVEALED

Imagine living in complete isolation. Imagine not being able to speak, to live in complete darkness; or having to hunt for your own survival. !There are many cases where Feral Children are involved, though it is not known whether these cases actually happened. Some of these cases happen to abandoned children in the wilderness. They supposedly grow separated from human society, to survive in the wild living with animals. When these children are found, there are attempts to teach them how to speak; but most of these children only learn a few words and phrases. The interesting thing is that all of them never take an interest in sex, and social skills. Some of them also have heightened senses of smell, hearing, touch or sight.!In more severe cases, the Feral Children are physically abused and locked up by an adult, being their parents most of the time. They keep their children hidden from the world and they can even tie them up to avoid the child’s escape. Feral Children in these cases lack muscle definition because they are confined to a tight space with no light and they are unable to move. !As we can all see, Feral Children is not a laughing matter. To take away someone’s will to live life as they choose is a crime, and a very severe one. A case of a Feral Child is Genie, a girl who was brought into a welfare office in California on November 4, 1970. The girl looked to be about six or seven years old, and her mother claimed that they had both suffered abuse from the girl’s father. It was later discovered that Genie was 13 years old, even though she weighed 59 pounds and was only 54 inches tall. She had been locked away in a dark room, tied to a potty-chair in mornings and placed in an over-sized crib with a metal screening cover, while tied into a sleeping bag at night. She had lived this way for over 10 years. She seemed to understand a few words and could only say, “stop it” and “no more”. She couldn’t walk properly and she lacked the ability to chew solid food. Genie could barely swallow and she could not focus her eyes further than 12 feet. A team of scientists began to help her hear, they did experiments to give Genie a chance to have a normal life. They tried to give her positive social contact, taking her out, showing her sights and new places. In tests it was discovered that she was highly intelligent; nevertheless she never learned to speak other than a few simple sentences. She ended up living in an assisted living facility around Southern California.!Feral Children have given scientists a new perspective on language skills and the evolution of language. But more importantly, they have given us insight on the true meanings of who we are, the lives that we lead, the abilities that we learn because we see them; and the abilities that we acquire through genetics. ! !Sarah Cohen!

CHAMPIONS Last night the lovable losers, the New York Mets defeated the Orioles 5-3. We have witnessed the most amazing world Series. Probably the best in the entire MLB league. The Mets are one of the most modest teams and in the last years they have surprisingly defeated the team that was thought to be the best in the whole competition. And now the team that had the worst record of the league is the new champion. !
