October Birthdays: 1 st October - Chloe 10 th October - Isla 24 th October - Jet Happy Birthday! Principal’s Message Week 3 is already here which means that we start swimming every Wednesday aŌernoon! I know that the children are very excited and the weather has definitely been more than warm enough for an aŌernoon dip. Don't forget the swimming gear this Wednesday‐ although I have a feeling that your kids will be quick to remind you. GymnasƟcs also started last week and we will be conƟnuing Friday morning lessons for a 6 week program. Lots of fantasƟc opportuniƟes to develop sporƟng skills, while avoiding too much acƟvity in the heat of the day. This week one lucky family will receive a veggie box with a some eggs from our chickens. We have such a wonderful selecƟon of different herbs and vegetables, as well plenty of eggs to share, so we decided to send a more generous box home to each household over the course of the term. All of the names are now in the hat, ready for the lucky draw this aŌernoon. Todays box contains: celery, silverbeet, kale, carrots, spring onions, rosemary, oregano, mint and 6 lovely big eggs. One of you might be enjoying a lovely friƩata, quiche or omeleƩe this week for dinner. I will be taking 2 weeks long service leave from next Monday to spend some Ɵme on another school camp, this Ɵme with one of my own children. I am heading to New Zealand with thirty Year 7 students... wish me luck! I am very grateful to have our staff step up to support the running of the school in my absence. Mrs Shohani will be here full‐Ɵme and Mrs Haine will be working addiƟonal days to ensure that our programs conƟnue as planned. Mrs Epthorp will conƟnue to work her usual two days too. We have such a dedicated and commiƩed staff and I am grateful for their willingness to give their Ɵme and energy so eagerly. Principal’s Message Week 3 is already here which means that we start swimming every Wednesday a ernoon! I know that the children are very excited and the weather has definitely been more than warm enough for an a ernoon dip. Don't forget the swimming gear this Wednesday‐ although I have a feeling that your kids will be quick to remind you.

Sydney West Athle cs Championship

Good luck to Cooper, Poppy, Chloe and Alfie as they compete next week in the NSW PSSA Athle cs Championships in the Hawkesbury Zone Small Schools Relay Team. We look forward to hearing of their results.

Playgroup Open Day Our Playgroup Open Day was a wonderful success with pre‐schoolers and their families enjoying a taste of primary school and par cipa ng in a wide range of ac vi es at Macdonald Valley Public School.

Our students were wonderful ambassadors for our school and delighted in helping to organise and run all of the ac vi es on the day. Well done Macdonald Valley Public School!

We are very proud of our students’ achievements in external events and compe ons and are commi ed to recognising their achievements, however, this cannot happen unless we are informed. Please ring us or send us something in wri ng if your child or a group of students achieve success in external events so we can recognise their achievements in our weekly newsle ers.
