Newsletter: Valentine’s day

Valentine’s day was celebrated with much love and warmth at GMIS on Wednesday, 13th April, 2019.

We celebrated Valentine’s day by expressing our love for each other. Prior to the celebrations, each class created a creative-love mail boxusing recycling materials. This box was intended to collect all the love cards sent among friends. Parents participated in this activity by sending love cards to their children as well. The IB learner’s profile “caring” was well reflected during this celebration. Every

floor of GMIS was decorated with love motifs and artifacts made by our students.

What we experienced during the day

During Valentine’s day, a Royal dance ball was held for all the students. They came dressed in the best of their attires and were very excited to participate in the different dance performances. They danced as couples, individually and with their group of friends as well.

At the end of the day, some awards were given; best dressed couple, best dancers of each level, best attitude, the most creative mail box and so on.We had a cocktail and refreshments specially prepared for our children to end the party on an appetising note. Smiles, cheers and lovely faces in the pictures below show the amount of fun we had.

What we learned during the day

We learnt the importance of expressing love to each other; family, friends. We experienced the feeling of being loved as well. We also learnt that sharing love make us happy.
