This week began in a very chilly way but we were lucky enough to see what our school looked like covered in snow thanks to Max and Leo, who snapped Sunday’s snow and shared the pictures with us. As we hit the half-way mark of the term, the students are busy fine-tuning their performances for concert night; we look forward to showing you Hesket’s Got Talent! Script writers, skippers, dancers, musicians and more! Next week’s newsletter will include more information about costumes and times – keep an eye out! Students of the Week Congratulations to Blake and Sam who were last week’s Students of the Week. One of Blake’s goals was to improve his handwriting and that he has – and Sam did a great job of setting up his arrays in a very organised fashion. Congratulations to you both! Looking Towards 2020 School Council are aware within our school community there are many families with either one or two parents or care-givers working. We understand that many of our families have arrangements in place that allow students to be picked up or dropped off from school but at times work makes this challenging. We have made contact with Our Village Childcare in Sunbury to learn about whether or not a family day care type out of hours care model would benefit the families of Hesket Primary. Talent! Script writers, skippers, dancers, musicians and

more!

Next week’s newsletter will include more information

about costumes and times – keep an eye out!

Students of the Week

Congratulations to Blake and Sam who were last

week’s Students of the Week. One of Blake’s goals was

to improve his handwriting and that he has – and Sam

did a great job of setting

Birthdays

Happy birthday to Chase who celebrated his birthday last weekend. Double figures

2019 Parent Opinion Survey

Just a reminder to families to complete the 2019 Parent Opinion Survey. The survey closing date has been

extended to the 18th of August.

Looking Towards 2020

School Council are aware within our school community there are many

families with either one or two parents or care-givers working. We

understand that many of our families have arrangements in place that allow

students to be picked up or dropped off from school but at times work

makes this challenging.

We have made contact with Our Village Childcare in Sunbury to learn about

whether or not a family day care type out of hours care model would benefit the families of Hesket Primary.

These investigations are very much in their infancy and before progressing with further investigation, I would like

your feedback on whether or not this service might be useful to your family in 2020.

School Council agree that in principle this model could suit our families, however before investigating its viability

any further we are seeking feedback from you.

A questionnaire is attached to the last page of this newsletter. We would appreciate you returning at your earliest

convenience.

INVESTIGATION INTO

FAMILY DAYCARE OUT

OF HOURS SCHOOL CARE

We would appreciate you returning at your earliest convenience.

*Please note that responses are just an indication at this stage. We understand that your needs/wishes may

change.

Some things to consider:

Cost would need to be determined, with a sessional charge for the morning and afternoon

Childcare rebates would be available for those families with eligibility

Exact running times would be determined following your feedback

The program would only run if it was to be economically viable

Our Village Childcare in Sunbury would utilise part of the old school building to run and oversee this

program. Hesket Primary School would simply provide facilities.

Please complete and return at your earliest convenience.
