Dear Parents
We are very pleased to announce that our Prairievale Debating
Team won the Parks Area Debating competition.
The team members were Lara Chwa, Anthony Herrera,
Desmond Hwang, Dylan Jong, Sheevali Ram, Sara Rhaima,
Nicholas Kalas and Danny Nguyen. Thank you to Miss Michetti
and Miss Cassar for their support and excellent coaching. As a
school community we are really proud of these students.
Daniel Morcombe Day
On Tuesday 4 November students participated in Daniel
Morcombe Day. Students wore red to support the day and were
shown an informative video about keeping safe. A big thank you
to all those who supported the day.
Bandanna Day
CanTeen support young people fighting cancer. Every year
23000 young people have to deal with the challenge of cancer -
whether it's their own diagnosis or that of a parent, brother or
sister. CanTeen believe that no young person should face
cancer alone. Thank you to all the Prairievale students, parents
and teachers who donated and participated. The SRC raised
$248 to contribute towards CanTeen. Thank you to the SRC for
supporting this cause.
PSSA
We wish our Senior Boys Cricket team all the best this Friday as
they have made it to the Grand Final for PSSA sport. Well done
boys for the hard work and perseverance during terms 1 and 4.
We will have our fingers crossed. The team will be playing at
Endeavour Park from 9:30am.
School Banking
We have had a successful year with the school banking program.
It’s never too late to create a bank account for your child. The
school banking program shows children how to save and rewards
them throughout the process. If you would like to set up an account
please see the front office for more information.
This term school banking will finish on 2 December 2014. This will
be the last opportunity for students to save their money before the
school holidays. There will be no banking on the 9th and 16th of
December. Thank you to all the volunteers who have helped with
the program over the year.
Public Speaking Finals
We wish Sophie Condell from year 3 all the best next week as she
will be representing our school at the Public Speaking Finals. We
are very proud of her achievements.
Year 6 Transition to High School
Year 6 students will have the opportunity to take part in a transition
to high school day. Each high school has sent out information re-
garding these days to your place of address. This is a valuable ex-
perience as students find out specific information about starting
Year 7. Parents will need to make arrangements to take their child
to their child’s high school on these days. Please contact your
child’s high school if you require additional information.
Halloween Dress Up Day
Halloween Dress Up Day was a huge success and the SRC raised
$322. The funds raised will go towards resources and equipment
for the children. The SRC would like to thank you for supporting us.
