Dear Parents and Carers,

The half term week is a good opportunity to recharge your batteries but to

also reflect on the previous half term.

Parents of those pupils who went to Kingswood will know from speaking to

their children about some of the challenges they faced when completing the

activities. Over the course of a few days, pupils confronted their fear of

heights, learnt how to work more effectively as part of a team while others

learnt how to place a duvet cover on. What was apparent was the level of

resilience demonstrated by those who were determined to push beyond

their comfort zone and not give up easily.

As learners, we have to be prepared to push beyond our comfort zone and

be resilient when faced with challenges. We may not always succeed in what

we started out to achieve but we can use this experience and apply what we

have learnt to the next situation.

Following on from last year, we are continuing our push on raising the

attendance percentage of all pupils. We expect all children to achieve 100%

attendance over the course of the academic year. This year, we will be

celebrating the achievement of those who have 100% attendance each half

term and they will be issued a certificate. Last year the grand prize for those

pupils who achieved 100% attendance for the whole of the academic year

was a bike and 5 lucky pupils walked away with a brand new bike. This year

the grand prize for those achieving 100% attendance for the academic year

will be a brand new scooter and there are 5 to be won. Good luck to all of

our pupils!

I wish you all a great half term and don’t forget to turn your

clocks back by 1 hour on Saturday night the 27th October.

Mr Walker

Headteacher

anniversary of the end of WW1 by

creating a Sea of Poppies wall outside of
