This year, Fight Fest returned with its 4th edition – Fight Fest IV: Art of Combat, at our iconic Centre Point Sabah Shopping Mall. The event which organized by Kinaba-lu Fighters Gym was staged at Palm Square on 7th and 8th Oc-tober 2017. There were 4 tour-naments arranged for the two-day event: Muay Thai Novice; K1 Pro; Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ); and Mata Leao Submission Grappling. On Day 1 Event, 50 participants took part in the Novice Muay Thai tournament which was organized

together with Persatuan Muay Thai Daerah Kota Kinabalu. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Mata Leao Submis-sion Grappling tournaments were held on Day 2 Event. The highlight of Day 2 Event was K1 Kickboxing Su-perfight with 11 bouts altogether. The Kickboxing matches are sanc-tion by ISKA. The highlight being the 60kg K1 Kickboxing Title Fight between Aziz ‘The Shantung Kid’ vs Reyan “Pemburu Bayang”, and the Man of the Match went to Reyan Abdul “Pemburu Bayang”.

Centre Point Sabah has hosted its annual Halloween event – Wiz-of-Loween on 22nd October 2017. This year’s themed event was based upon the famous novel, mu-sical and film: The Wizard of Oz by author L. Frank Baum. Centre Point Sabah selected the theme Wizard of Oz, a storyline where Dorothy gone into the magical land of Oz, and eventually the residents in that town seek for her help to chase

away the witches from their land. The Wiz-of-Loween event has man-aged to gather 215 children for the Trick or Treat activity.Apart from that, the Colouring Con-test organized by Smart Reader saw a total of 88 participation from children aged 3 until 6 years old, and some of them even dressed up in costume.

Prior to the concert, there was a Press Conference conducted at Palm Square on 27th October. Some of the activities made dur-ing the press conference were 10 gold ticket giveaway, and 50 lucky winners will be given a chance to take photos with Anthony!

Super star Sabah Concert 2017 -27th October-

The national music contest (East Malaysia) organized by Kwong Wah Yit Poh was successfully held at Palm Square on 28th & 29th October. The Director of DHS’s Assistant Minister Datuk IR Yong Oui Fah was the honour-able guest invited to officiate the event. The event also managed to raise RM40,000 for the construc-

tion of expanded kitchen and dining room for Sabah Cheshire Home. The expansion plan is ex-pected to be completed soon to help those unfortunate at Sa-bah Cheshire Home to have a comfortable living environment.

New Nursery RoomWe are pleased to officially announce and introduce our new nursery room to everyone. The nursing rooms are located at our Basement Floor (near KFC Restaurant) and 3rd Floor (between Kaison and F.O.S). The room is furnished with a nice sofa for mother-baby bonding (breastfeeding) session, a diaper changing facility, an area to prepare formula milk equipped with hot and cold water dispenser, and sink for cleaning baby bottles purpose.Nevertheless, we would like to urge everyone to keep the facility clean after use.

In order to make sure the safety of patrons in our complex, our security guards has include defensive tactics as a part of training. The de-fensive tactics training conduct regularly is to prepare for the happen of dangerous situations around our complex. Common self-defence and maintaining good physical fitness of our security guards is critical in executing the security ser-vice for public members.

Lost and FoundOn the 28th October, a purse was found by the cleaner and sent to our Centre Control Room immediately. After that, our security has suc-cessfully contact with the purse’s owner and she is admit that she was lost her purse to a pickpocket. She had claim back her purse

along with her person-al things on the next day. Kindly reminder to the public members to be always beware of your own personal things to prevent get-ting pickpocketed. If this case happen, please report it to the nearest security or po-lice as soon as possible.

If you have lost an item while shopping in our mall, please check to see if it has been handed in to our Centre Control Room or Information Coun-ter. Please leave a description of the lost item with your contact details, so that it is easier for us to reach and return the item to you.

On the other hand, if you have found an item while shopping in our mall, please deliver it to the se-curity or Information counter as soon as possible. Your fellow shoppers will appreciate your courtesy and consideration.

Maintenance and Cleaning

New Air Curtains and Entrance CarpetsReplacement of four new air curtains was completed due to aging of air curtains at our main entrance facing Api-Api. Along with that, the carpets at the same entrance has also re-placed with new carpets to present a fresh look to our patrons.

Repainting Work of Plaster Ceiling

As we informed before, our contractor is repaint-ing the plaster ceiling in our mall from Basement Floor to 3rd Floor. The plaster ceiling at 1st, 2nd and 3rd Floor is almost done and we are in the progress the work of repainting plaster ceiling for Ground Floor and Basement Floor.

In order to keep the chillers running with its maximum cooling efficiency, 6nos of the compressor’s chillers have been conducted routine oil change recently by the oversea specialist from Taiwan.
