PARENT AND FAMILY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

WHO WE ARE

We are the Parent and Family Development Program, an outpatient community-based mental

health clinic for parents to support their own mental health and wellness. The purpose of the

program is to help adults be successful parents by focusing on their own wellbeing.

WHO WE SERVE

We serve parents and caregivers with children younger than 18 years of age.

WHAT WE DO

We provide a variety of services for parents and caregivers with different symptoms including but

not limited to: depression, anxiety, trauma and parenting stress. We also facilitate community

workshops.

KIMBERLY STREATER

Community Mental Health Ambassador

Kimberly Streater is a

Community Mental Health

Ambassador with the Department

of Psychiatry in the New Haven

Center for Wellbeing for Women

and Mothers at Yale School of

Medicine. As a survivor of domestic violence she

sought out employment in a position where she

could work helping to rebuild the community by

engaging and supporting mothers in need. She is a

mom of six children whom understands the

stressors single moms face on a daily basis. She has

watched her children persevere through many

transitions in life, and each has a different

personality which keeps her very balanced. She is a

basketball mom so her evenings consist of either

practices or games.

CHOCOLATE ACORN TREATS

Ingredients:

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

48 milk chocolate kisses

48 Nutter Butter Bites

Directions:

In a microwave, melt chocolate

chips; stir until smooth. Spread the flat side of each kiss

with a small amount of melted chocolate; immediately

attach each to a cookie.

Cut a small hole in the corner of a pastry or plastic bag;

insert a small round tip. Fill with remaining melted

chocolate. Pipe a stem onto each acorn. Place on waxed

paper-lined baking sheets; refrigerate until set. Store in

an airtight container. Makes: 48
