What a wonderful first half of term 4. I am so proud of our wonderful students who follow our STAR values with pride. You may notice the white wall on our canteen, it is being prepped for another bright and colourful mural. Please drop by to have a look in the coming weeks. Our lovely preschool team and children have created a special Yarning Circle in the preschool. Please have a look as you walk on by- it has been made with lots of love! It is exciting to see our new Kindergarten and Preschool students start their transition to ECPS. Thank you to the Eastern Creek community for making our new families feel welcome. Could all families please complete the ‘Return to School

Survey’ by the end of the week. It is very important that

we have this information so that classes for 2020 can be

accurately calculated.

2020 School Swimming Scheme Program The students of Eastern Creek Public School have the opportunity to participate in the school swimming scheme this year. The scheme is an elementary learn to swim program for students who have not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills. The cost of this 10 lesson program is $60. This will include transport to and from Mt Druitt Swimming Pools, pool entry and group swim coaching. The lessons shall be held between Monday 25th November and Friday 29th November 2020.

Each session caters for up to 60 students. To ensure the program goes ahead, minimum numbers are required. There are 4 spaces left!

Please support this wonderful scheme by returning the permission note and payment showing your interest

and commitment to improve your child’s swimming ability and confidence in the water.

Selective High 2020

At the end of last term, information was sent home to all Year 5 students about applying for a selective High

School in 2021. It is for current Year 5 students and all application forms are due to the Department of Education

in the coming weeks. To be considered for placement students must sit the Selective High School Placement

Test. For information about applying and the placement process go to https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-

schools/selective-high-schools-and-opportunity-classes/year-7.

Any further information can be obtained by speaking with Ms Roseman or your child’s Year 5 teacher.

There will be a Christmas Stall/ White Elephant stall held on Wednesday 5th & 6th December in the new

demountable. We encourage your child to bring a recyclable bag for any purchase that you make.

The school thanks the parents who are supporting the no entry to the school car park policy. Thank you for your assistance in keeping our children safe! In Cable Place, could you please be respectful and not block the driveways and only park in the legal areas or better still, park in the Cawarra Street carpark.

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

ThinkUKnow is a partnership between the Australian Federal Police, Commonwealth Bank, Microsoft

and Datacom and delivered in partnership with all State and Territory police and

Neighbourhood Watch Australasia. The cyber safety presentations sensitively cover a

range of topics including sexting, cyber bullying, online child exploitation, online privacy,

and importantly what to do when something goes wrong. Presentations are aimed at

parents, carers and teachers and young people from Kindergarten to Year 12. A Family

Internet Safety Contact has been included from Think U Know, as it may be useful to

establishing rules to maintain user safety.

ThinkUKnow is a free, evidence-based cyber safety program that provides presentations

to Australian parents, carers and teachers and students. It provides information on the

technologies young people use, the challenges they may face, and importantly, how they

can be overcome.
