T he Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles now requires documentation on anyone getting

a new driver’s license, renewing a license, ID card, or learner’s permit. This is to align with federal law which introduced security standards for state driv-er’s licenses in 2005 known as “Real ID.” Here’s what you need to know:

• By October 2020, you will need the new license

to board a plane in the U.S. (a valid passport is acceptable).

• You don’t need the Real ID license until October

2020, so just wait and apply for it when your li-cense/ID is due for renewal.

Everyone will need to renew in person at the Registry and bring the following: A document showing U.S. citizenship or lawful presence:

• A valid U.S. passport or

• Certified copy of your birth certificate

A document proving your Mass. residency:

• A utility bill, credit card, or medical statement

dated within 60 days or

• Federal, state or municipal-issued documents

such as first-class mail. A document proving your Social Security number:

• Your Social Security card or

• Pay stub

You must pass a vision screening test and have your photo taken if not recent.

More information is on mass.gov/ID.

Meals on Wheels Driver Sought Elder Services is in need of a Meals on Wheels driver for Paxton on Mondays and Wednesdays. Anyone interested, contact Tina at the Senior
