We will be studying the value, Excellence for the next fortnight.

Excellence is demonstrated every time we give our absolute best to a task.

Excellence is not about comparing ourselves to others or trying to compete against others. It is about doing the best we can. And it begins with practicing and never giving up.

Sir Donald Bradman practiced his batting skills as a child by hitting a golf ball with a stump. He is remembered around the world as the greatest batsman of the past 200 years.

The team of performers from Circus Oz demonstrated Excellence to the students of Emerson School this week. Their many hours of practice has given them great skills to teach , and amaze, our students with their incredible skills.

The sponsorship of the RACV and Drum Theatre made this event possible. We were very excited to have so many talented visitors to our school, including the Mayor of the City of Greater Dandenong, Mr Sean O’Reilly.

EMERSON SPORTS REPORT

HOUSE ATHLETICS CARNIVAL NEXT WEEK!

The house athletics carnival will be held next Wednesday at our Middle School campus. While the focus of the day will be around having fun, results from our athletics carnival will be used to select a team to represent Emerson School at the inter-school athletics event later this month.

It would be great if we could see all students in their house colours. REMEMBER: Crazy house hats, Crazy house hair and Crazy house coloured clothes are all welcomed at athletics day!

Advance

This week we continued our fitness theme and headed down to Casey Fields with the bikes. Casey Fields has a fantastic 2.4km criterium short course which is open to the public throughout the year.

Parents set a good example; brush and floss your teeth. Children tend to

imitate the actions of their parents.

If your teeth hurt when you eat or drink cold/hot foods, your teeth may be

sensitive. Visit your dentist.
