From The Principal’s Office

Last week at the Assembly, we announced that we made a rough estimate of $6700 profit from our fair, however we are

pleased to announce we actually made $8,159.00 , this is

amazing and will definitely help improve our ICT resources. Thank you to all the families who supported our fair once again! Don’t forget, early dismissal tomorrow. Take care and happy holidays.

Term one has come to an end and what a great term it has been! It has been an interesting term with some excellent learning and events happening.

As staff this week, we spent some time reflecting and celebrating the learning growth our students have made. Holidays have come at a good time though, with the weather, fires and normal intensive learning happening, we notice the students wearing out a little. Holidays give our students a chance to have a brain break and to have some time learning outside of school, negotiating with siblings, perhaps some travels, visiting family, catching up on reading, movies etc, however it all apart of growing up and also a chance to experience boredom. It can be a time where the creativity side of your child makes out. I know my children come up with some interesting ways to entertain themselves especially when the technology is removed from them. I am looking forward to time travelling with my family and I am sure the ‘eye-spy’ in the car will be utilised a lot. Hope it a safe and great break for all families. Yesterday, we had a large group compete at the Athletics sports at the Geoff Watt track. We have had some great results from that and another big group going onto the next level. WELL DONE to all students involved, we are always super proud of your efforts.

Our Chaplain Hi everyone, I cannot believe that term 1 has nearly been completed. Well done for getting your children to school this term. The routine is relentless-long gone are the summer carefree days and we are well and truly back into the thick of things. But we have done it. Term 1 is just about done. I have been reflecting on the term and have reminded myself of some very special moments in our family. I am so thankful for the people who invest into my children. There have been times when I have been worried but the village has been there waiting to support. We have had Professionals listening well and giving wise advice. Teachers willing to listen and give the best support they can. Friends of ours listening without judgement, ready to encourage and do what they can to offer support. And oh what a difference support does make! Drouin West Primary, I believe has that same sense of community. I love the way teaching staff work hard here to get to know your children. Not just their academic ability, but your children’s passions and likes and what makes them unique and special. We have people here who support without judgement. Most of us know how difficult it is to be a parent. There will be times when things go along smoothly and times when our child will need some extra support. We are here to help you. Please let us know if we can support you in anyway. We have a village here! We are blessed too to have such a hardworking school council and fundraising committee. It is so awesome to have people who are willing to give up personal time for the benefit of our kids! We live in a great place. We are so privileged to have such amazing beauty all around us. As I walked past the tree with all the bees I heard some amazing birds chirping happily in their environment and what a beautiful environment it is. We really are blessed to be part of this amazing school community. Seasons for Growth will begin for children in grade 4-6 the second week

back of term 2. I look forward to journeying with your children. In the

meantime, Happy Holidays and Happy Easter! I hope it’s special for you

and your family.

Take care! Wendy Ronalds School Chaplain
