December here we come…
December is always a busy month at NAP with decorating parties and
concerts. Please make sure that you keep an eye out for the activities
calendar for December as it will be a fun month. Rumours are abound that
there will be some staff providing some entertainment which always shows
how untalented some of us are!!!!!!
Thank you to everyone involved in the spring fair. Despite the incredibly hot
day, staff, stall holders and volunteers did an amazing job. Unfortunately, I was
away on leave and missed out on all the fun, however the feedback received
was that the day was marvellous, and residents are looking forward to one
next year.
Last year we organised a fundraiser for children’s gifts to be left under the
Xmas tree in the main reception. These gifts were then given to the Salvation
Army for distribution to those in need. This year we would like to once again
donate items to the Salvation Army. This year we are hoping to donate food
items and toiletries for mature adults. If you would like to donate food items,
please make sure that they are in original packaging with expiry dates still
current and non-perishable.
Toiletries are in demand around Christmas. Any donations of toiletries, female
hygiene products etc would be greatly appreciated. If you are donating
toiletries and they are wrapped, it would be very helpful if they can be labelled
with a brief description on the present e.g. Man’s toilet bag/ female hankies.
The Salvation Army do such a wonderful job in the community, so this is a
great opportunity to help them, help others.
On behalf of myself and the NAP management team I would like to wish all
resident, families, visitors, allied health professionals and contractors a safe
and Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
Debate continues as to when a new decade commences. Some believe it
starts on the 01/01/2020 and some believe it starts on the 01/01/2021. For
those of you who believe it commences on the 01/01/2020. – The next decade
is nearly here………….. Cheers Dawn

Yves Piaget, spent a whopping $16
million on decorating his Christmas

decorated with 83 pieces of jewelry
in Tokyo.
In order to deliver all of his
presents on Christmas Eve Santa
would need to travel at 650 miles
per second and visit 822 homes a

The tradition of hanging stockings
comes from a Dutch custom. They
would leave shoes full of food for
St. Nicolas' donkeys and St.
Nicholas would then leave small
gifts in return.
There is a village in Peru where
people settle the previous year’s
grudges by fist fighting. They then
start the new year off on a clean
slate.
Santa Claus is based on a real
person, St. Nikolas of Myra, the
world's most popular non-biblical
saint.
Santa Claus initially wore clothes
that were in green, purple, or blue.
However, Coca Cola decided to
dress him up in colours that match
their brand and that stuck. So this
is why he is always in red clothes
now
Christmas trees were first
decorated with foods such as
apples, nuts and dates. If you
received all the gifts from the song
“The Twelve Days of Christmas”
you would have 364 presents.
