Principal’s Message

Many of you have heard through the media about the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. All schools are being updated daily via the Departments of Education and Health about the disease and safe practices at school. At this time, it is important not to panic and to monitor your family’s health. If you or any family members have health concerns, please see your doctor. Attendance at school is important, but if your child is unwell, please keep them at home until they recover. Upon returning to school, please provide a note explaining the absence. In relation to excursions and camps, we will be guided by the Departments of Education and Health. You will be informed of any changes if and when the information comes to hand.

Mrs Newton and myself are well and truly underway with External Validation. For the remainder of this term we will be preparing Brocklesby Public School’s submission. We will endeavour to keep any disruption to the normal class routine to a minimum. We thank you for your support and understanding during these last few weeks of Term 1.

Student learning over the past several weeks has had a strong emphasis on whole number, place value and number patterns particularly in the infants classroom. Here is a photo of the infants making patterned necklaces. We look forward to continuing our enriching mathematics program and consolidate student understanding of number over the next four weeks. SCHOOL NEWS

Term 1 Week 7 2020

KVE Visit Students accompanied by Mrs Williams and Mrs Craft visited the KVE (Khaki Vehicle Enthusiasts) display which was in the Main Street of Brocklesby Thursday the 12th March. The students saw many different vehicles which the club members have restored to their original state. Thank you to the KVE organisation for giving our school the opportunity to experience their display, with ANZAC day coming up soon the display was a timely reminder of times gone by.

Lowesdale Public School Visit Students and staff will travel to Lowesdale on the 23rd March for a shared learning day. Students from both schools benefit from the combined interaction on these learning days.

NAPLAN 2020

Students in Years 3 & 5 will be siting NAPLAN practice

tests on Thursday 26th March.

These tests are great practice for students to assist

with preparing for the real tests.

Brocklesby Public School students will sit the NAPLAN

test during May in Term 2.
