Need Contract Work? Get A ReferenceThe Bonnie Brae HOA has approved a new Sub-Committee offering a service for the members of the HOA. When maintenance or repair on our homes is necessary it is sometimes possible to do it ourselves. However, some projects are too complicated or extensive. In these instances a contractor may be needed. We are then faced with how to choose a contractor and how to get the project completed correctly, on time, and in budget. This can be a very formidable task!

The HOA will keep a list of all Bonnie Brae residents who are willing to give an assessment on the contractor they used to any other intrested resident. Only the Bonnie Brae member’s name would be given out to other Bonnie Brae members upon their request for reference. Contractors would be categorized as: roofing, siding, painting interior, painting exterior, concrete, tree maintenance, foundation, landscaping, lawn maintenance, etc.

The Sub-Committee is requesting that anyone who has had contract work done, in the last 5 or more years, to contact David Ulrich at [email protected] if you would give a reference for that contractor. Your name would be provided only to Bonnie Brae members who are interested in assessing contractors before “signing the dotted line.”

Also, the HOA would provide some basic information about contracting services and some examples of problems Bonnie Brae members have had with contracting services (the name of HOA member and contractor will not be mentioned, just the issues that arose to the HOA member).

Now’s the timeIf you haven’t paid your annual dues, now is the time! Our modest $30 helps cover costs of many ongoing efforts and keeps us prepared for upgrades or repairs. Dues can be mailed or dropped off at Rick and Rona Aguilar’s, 8021 Mockingbird Ln. If you have questions, contact Rick at [email protected]

Covenants Renewal CommitteeOur Homeowners Association Covenants will soon be up for renewal. We are forming a committee to review and discuss any updates or changes that may need to be made. We are in need of anyone with legal expertise, notary public experience or individuals who may know reliable references. We also need input from homeowners. This will be an ongoing project that will refine our existing covenants and ensure they will be renewed for another 30 years. Decisions made will greatly effect future residents and participation is very important. If you are interested in being involved please contact David Ulrich at [email protected].

From the Board:Hello!

We hope that you have all been persevering through this extremely hot summer! At our last board meeting we discussed some issues facing our neighborhood. We would like to address some of the issues and remind you that, “No one wants to be a nagging neighbor.” Hopefully this refresher will keep our neighborhood in top shape and keep you on good terms with your neighbors.
