Four Titans were chosen on the All-PAC teams, including seniors first baseman Brandon Rossier and pitcher/outfielder Joseph Salmen, who were named on the Second Team. Juniors designated hitter Michael Douds, pitcher Cory Pullen, and third baseman Dante Parente were each named Honorable Mention. TTO NEWSLETTER • JUNE 2016

Dear Friends,

This final edition of the TTO newsletter for the 2017-18 year also signals one last and respectful request for contributions to this year’s TTO fund raising campaign that concludes June 30. Thanks to all of you who have already financially supported our teams and student-athletes with your gifts during the past fiscal year.

This is also a reminder that July 30 is the date for the annual Towering Titan Buzz Ridl Golf Classic and dinner at the New Castle Country Club. Specific details and a registration form are included in this edition of the newsletter. The TTO Executive Committee will have its summer meeting the morning of the golf outing. Please don’t hesitate to contact President Henry Klinar ‘01, any of the committee members, or me with concerns or questions you have about the TTO.

Elsewhere in the newsletter is a recap of the annual WESPY awards and the spring sports’ season. Heading the list of special award winners were Kelsey Phillips (golf) and Jarret Vrabel (basketball) as the Marjorie Walker and David Fawcett award recipients, Hailey Hall (track & field) and Connor May (swimming & diving) as the WESPY exceptional performance winners, and Katelynn Morrell (cross country and track & field) and Dan Bogen (swimming & diving) as the Huey Senior Scholar-Athletes of the year. Special congratulations also go to all of the student-athletes and coaches of our women’s varsity sports teams for winning the PAC All-Sports Trophy for the second year in a row, and for the 10th time overall since joining the PAC in 2003.

It will again be a busy summer on campus with sports camps, some renovation projects, and getting ready for another year of competition for our 22 varsity sports teams. As our coaches know, there is little “time off” when it comes to recruitment and retention efforts. Thank you to those of you who contact our coaches about prospective student-athletes and who continually spread the word about Westminster College and Titan athletics.

Thanks also to all of the TTO members who supported Titan teams throughout the past year by attending games and competitions here at Westminster and on the road. Westminster is blessed to have so many alums, parents, and fans who, in the words of President Richardson, “…put the WE in Westminster.”

I hope all of you have an enjoyable summer.

Sincerely,

Jim Dafler
