Parents are welcome to attend their childs session which will be held in the hall. Students, please bring your bike helmet. Year 3 and 4 - 9.15am Kindergarten, Year 1 and 2 - 10.15am Year 5 and 6 - 12.10pm. Dream Cricket On Monday 5th November, K6C attended Dream Cricket at Ross Hill Public School. Rotary members organised cricket games and encouraged students to have a go. We participated with students from Ross Hill Public School and Holy Trinity. Oliver saw his sister and many friendships were made during the excursion. Cooper and Mallee in Year 6 came with us to be helpers. We played lots of games including hitting a ball off a tee to go between two goals. We threw a tennis ball to a sticky wicket. We bounced a soccer ball and a handball onto an angled mini trampoline and had to catch it, as it bounced back towards us. We threw a tennis ball through small holes in a net and at wicket stumps. After all of these activities, we played a modified game of cricket. We had a great day and it was wonderful to try new games. We would like to extend our thanks to all the student helpers, teachers, Ross Hill and Rotary members for organising and hosting this event. Sport News Last week I went to Maitland to compete in the North West Cricket team at the State Carnival. I bowled as well as batted. I took two wickets; I bowled one girl out and our captain took a catch from a ball I bowled. My highest batting score was 13 runs. I nearly hit a six but was caught on the boundary. I really enjoyed playing in the team and made a lot of new friends. We won three games out of seven which was a huge improvement on last year’s performance. By Isabella Pomfrett Year 6

Blue Sky Film Project The Blue Sky Film Project seeks to give those living with a disability in the Inverell district an opportunity for creative expression through filmmaking. Professional filmmakers work collaboratively with students and have provided an exciting professional and creative opportunity. This year the project has been supported by the Sisters of Mercy and private donations. K6C students have taken part in weekly sessions with Mrs Marshall to create a short film. We learnt drama games and how to be dramatic when acting. Mrs Marshall brought her filming camera, clapper board and boom mic. We learnt the roles and responsibilities of how to use this equipment during our sessions and made a short film with Mrs Marshall and Mr Dennis. We film in front of a special green screen. Mr Dennis will professionally edit the film and use special effects to change the green screen into a background. This Friday 16th November, K6C are going to the Inverell Town Hall to watch our short film and other short films. Everyone can have the chance to watch our film at the North West Film Festival at the Inverell Town Hall this Saturday 17th November from 10am. Entry is free and open to the community. One of Australia’s greatest living film directors, Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy, Mao’s Last Dancer) will be attending the Festival as a special guest and will judge films entered into the North West Film Competition.
