Dear Parents

I guess every day should be a day full of random acts of kindness. As with any normal day, things to do can crowd out these

moments. So it’s such a good thing when the school takes a week to intentionally encourage all pupils to do random acts of

kindness in our RAK week. The initiative was taken by interact who came up with a whole range of acts of kindness. For me,

it was so nice to get a card pronouncing me the best principal as judged by Grade 10 Purple. Actually as I write this I am also

enjoying the dark Lindt orange intense chocolate that accompanied the card. So thank you to everyone who made the extra

effort to be kind this week.

Interact has been collecting care packets for girls from Capricorn Village and we have been overwhelmed with the generosity

of our pupils and their families.

Special mention must go to Casey Bloomberg in Grade 8 and her family for donating over 20 care packets. Our Interactors

were also busy on Sunday and assisted Sea Point Rotary Club with running their stall at the One2One event for Intellectually

Challenged Children and Adults - thanks for the kindness you showed.

In addition we hosted a Western Province Blood Clinic at the school yesterday and managed to increase the blood supplies

by 32 units! Thank you to everyone who showed they have a heart

A reminder that ALL pupils must wear their full uniform or sports kit.

Annual Camps Bay School Magazine:

We are busy putting together the annual Camps Bay Primary School Magazine. This year will be a bumper issue and will

combine both Prep and Primary Campuses in one magazine.

Magazine Page Sponsorship: To keep the costs of the publication down, we are offering families the opportunity to

sponsor pages in the magazine. A page will cost you just R350-00 to sponsor and in exchange for this sponsorship you will

receive a one liner credit on a magazine page thanking you for your sponsorship.

Magazine Advertising: This year, we have decided to cut down on the advertising and offer just the inside front cover and

back inside cover for advertising.

Across the Generations Feature – This is a photographic spread of children with their parents and/or grandparents who

were past pupils of the school.

Keep it in the Family Feature – This is a page in the magazine that is dedicated to families who have children on more

than one of the campuses.

If you would like to take up any of these opportunities, please contact Carol van der Spuy

at [email protected] or 076-359-3286.

Catering Society at The Lawns Market

Thanks to the Catering Society for putting on such a wonderful spread of delicious baked goods at The Lawns Market at The

Roundhouse on Women’s Day. It was so lovely to see our Camps Bay pupils represented at this community event.

Beanies for Mandela Day

We knitted beanies for Mandela Day and they were distributed at The Haven Night Shelter in Green Point with the

assistance of Ladles of Love and Camps Bay High School pupils, Ethan Smith and Anna Sheinman, who are regular volunteers at

the Night Shelter’s soup kitchen. Thanks to everyone who donated and knitted.
