Lyn Read Principal Message From The Principal Student Achievement Last week we had assessment week where teachers assessed students in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy. This is an important part of our work as it lets us see which students are flourishing and which students may need extra support. Teachers do not only value outright achievement but also growth. A child may be behind the expected level of his or her peers but makes outstanding growth which is important for us to acknowledge and celebrate. Teachers have idenfied several students who are working extremely hard both at school and home and who are geng some amazing results. These students were presented with Principals awards at assembly last week. Please be sure to acknowledge and celebrate these wonderful achievements. Staffing Ms Oji will commence leave from Monday for the rest of the year. She will be replaced by Michael Edwards who will be in to meet the students and do a handover tomorrow. Ms Richards commences family leave at the end of the term and will be replaced by Sophie Lagerway. Sophie has spent today with Eve and the class doing a handover. Sophie will also be in next week. We wish Sandra all the best for her leave and thank her for her contribuon to Sunshine Primary School. Playground Update Aſter extensive consultaon, discussion and vong the School Captains and members of the Junior School Council are proud to announce that the new playground equipment will be the Space Climber. We are hoping to have the new structure installed over the holidays. Thanks to all our families who support our fundraising efforts as this is where all money raised goes. Attitudes to School Survey The students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 completed the Atudes to School Survey online. Below you will find a sample of student statements and the corresponding results in percentages. I am sure you will agree that we have a wonderful group of students who really respect and care for each other. It certainly makes me proud to be part of such a remarkable community. Over the next couple of weeks we will be holding de brief sessions with the students to look at the data, discuss what is going well, what needs improving Student Absence To report your childs absence please call the school on 8311 5700 and choose opon 1 OR use the link on our website and complete the absence form. Message From The Principal

Student Achievement Last week we had assessment week where teachers assessed students in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy. This is an important part of our work as it lets us see which students are flourishing and which students may need extra support. Teachers do not only value outright achievement but also growth. A child may be behind the expected level of his or her peers but makes outstanding growth which is important for us to acknowledge and celebrate. Teachers have identified several students who are working extremely hard both at school and home and who are getting some amazing results. These students were presented with Principal’s awards at assembly last week. Please be sure to acknowledge and celebrate these wonderful achievements.

Staffing Ms Oji will commence leave from Monday for the rest of the year. She will be replaced by Michael Edwards who will be in to meet the students and do a handover tomorrow. Yard Supervision A reminder to parents that the school yard is supervised from 8:45am to 8:55am and 3:15pm to 3:25pm.

We remind parents that students need to be picked up by 3:25pm. Any students who are not picked up by this time will be sent to the after school care program were parents will incur a cost. If you are running late please notify the office so we can inform your child/children.

Victorian Premiers Reading Challenge

The program will finish on FRIDAY 6 SEPTEMBER

Well done to all the students who participated in this years challenge.

Our Breakfast Club is sole run on donations. We are currently seeking donations of margarine and strawberry jam. If you are able to assist please leave your kind donation at the breakfast club.
