Summer Sunday School Cari Dietrick is teaching Sunday School this summer. She will be leading the kids in the “Ever-Popular, Kelly Johnson-introduced, Bible Timeline Cards!” and will
include lots of physical activity as part of learning.
Deacon’s Report Sound System Update We have witnessed the involvement of our gracious Lord from the beginning of our plans to upgrade our 30+-year-old sound system, starting with the financial provision during the recent tumult through to the supply of knowledgeable, skilled men for the construction of the new sound booth to the installation of the equipment. And there were many spots during the process where any number of problems could have curtailed the upgrade, but He faithfully brought us through all of them. Many of the acoustical distractions of the old system are gone, and we hope that you have enjoyed how it is easier to listen to the teaching of His Word. YACC Stairs Other than a few paint touch-ups, the new stairs are complete. As with all of our repairs and upgrades, we strove to make the new stairs as maintenance free as possible. That is in keeping with our desire as Deacons to spend as little time as is necessary for repairs and maintenance of the building - thereby freeing the people of the church to spend more time building up one another through the vital personal relationships that are edifying and eternal. Fire Safety We purchased new fire extinguishers and made a few other repairs (the YACC stairs and replacement of light bulbs) so that we could get an inspection from the fire department which would, hopefully, lead to the possibility of lowering the cost of our property and casualty insurance. The process is ongoing, and we will let you know the results in a future Newsbreak. Final Thoughts All of the Deacons believe that serving the Lord is one way to worship Him because it requires physical and mental sacrifices to do so. We take our direction in this area from Romans 12:1, which states, "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship." Please consider joining with us as we turn our work into worship. -The Deacons
Women’s Outreach The Women’s Outreach is a group of ladies from our church desiring to serve our church and community with various activities that include fellowship and sharing the gospel. We meet on the first Thursday of every month from 9:30am until 11:30am. All ladies are welcome to join us, and you can bring a dish to share, or bring your own food, and have lunch afterwards. If you can’t make the meetings, but would like to help, please let one of the ladies know. I’m sure we can find a couple of things for you to do! Our last event was the Ladies Spring Luncheon, and it was a complete success. We had all of the local area churches represented, along with women from around our community. It was a blessing to know this function is well attended each year, and this year was no exception. It is a blessing to both those who put it on, as well as those who attend. These past couple of years ACC has had a church yard sale, but we are skipping it this summer. We think it’s a great idea, but would like to restructure it to make it easier on those who volunteer before we try it again. If you have any ideas, let us know.
T.A.G.G. Are you having trouble reading God’s word daily? Do you find yourself making excuses to not read more than you do read the Bible? Have you desired to read Scripture daily, but just can’t seem to fit it in? Do I have a group for you!! ACC has a group that keeps women accountable to reading God’s word daily, our Texting Accountability Gals Group, or T.A.G.G. for short. The ladies who have been doing this for a bit now have thoroughly enjoyed the ease of this group, and the nudge it gives them to keep reading. Give me a call, or stop me at church, and I can share with you all about it. In Christ, Jessie Leet
