Well summer is here and we have seen some springing
forward in the EB-3 category numbers. The good news is
that we have passed the 2005 mark which is when PERM
became effective. This means that we now have
computerized data references Instead of USCIS 'whatever'
numbers. From 2005 to 2008 there were 240,000 PERM
approvals. Even though that sounds a lot it isn't really.
There are 140,000 employment visa numbers available
per year so this is less than 2 years worth of numbers. Also
a lot of cases were filed as EB-3 and then changed to EB-
2. The EB-2 numbers are not backlogged so they have
been used. That means there are probably about 100,000
PERM numbers outstanding in 4 years (2005 -2008). Sit
tight your green card is on it's way!
Warm regards,
Antonia Canero
and the ACPA Family
