CHILDREN'S MINISTRYHELP NEEDED IN TWEENIE CLASS

PATHFINDERSStudents in grades 1 - 5 are currently
engaged in a study from the book of Acts. They are focusing on the women in this book who exhibit a servant attitude—women like Dorcas, Priscilla, and Lydia. To put their knowledge in action, the children made blankets for the ladies of Mending Hearts, an organization that provides shelter, hope, and healing to women who may be homeless due to addiction, and/or co-occurring mental health and substance related disorders.

• SUNDAY SERVICE—DECEMBER 29 Next Sunday we will be leading the afternoon service at the Green Hills Apartments for Retired Teachers. We will leave from the building at 3:30 and return in time for our Christmas Party that will be held in the youth center.
POLAR BEAR PLUNGE The second annual New Year’s Day
Polar Bear Plunge benefiting Haiti Missions will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at the home of Lynn and Dianne Griffith (4029 Outer Drive). Everyone is invited to witness the event! Lynn will be swimming for five minutes in the cold, while visualizing the warmth of Haiti! Information on how you can help and the projects that will benefit from the proceeds is available on the News & Notes table. If you have questions, please contact Lynn at [email protected].

and Emily Hise on the birth of their son, "Jett" Grayson Hise, on October 5. Welcoming her little brother is Reegan. "The Beginner Bible" and "Praying Circles around Your Children" are presented to the parents on behalf of the Marriage and Family Ministry. A prayer of commitment and encouragement will be offered by one of our elders, Phil Henry.

Our annual New Year's Eve party is scheduled for Tuesday night, December 31, in the fellowship hall. Please bring finger foods, movies, XBox/PS3, cards, and board games. BIBLE STUDYThe Wednesday morning women's Bible
study will resume on January 15 at 10:00 am. Two studies will be available:• A scriptural study alongside Bill Wiese's New York Times Best Seller, "23 Minutes in Hell," will be led by Susan Saunders. If you plan to join this study, please pick up a copy of the book and read the first two chapters prior to the first class.• Fragrance of Faith by Cassandra Martin is an in-depth study of the Beatitudes.
