At its heart, SUGA is a volunteer based organization. SUGA was established by volunteers and continues to exist because members step in to ensure its success. Without these dedicated members SUGA could not achieve what it does. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities: Application Coordinator, Board of Director positions, User-Led Presenter, and Event Volunteers (Labs, Registration assistance, business luncheon-voting, etc.). Over the next few months you will receive more information on these opportunities, as well as requests for volunteers. Application Coordinator (AC): ACs work with users and SunGard product managers to manages the IDEAS process. These positions are filled with subject matter experts on SunGards products. Board of Directors: Elected Board positions open in 2017 are President-Elect and Secretary (2-yr position). Once the new Board is elected, there will be two Director-at-Large positions appointed. For more information you can go to the SUGA website bylaws page and read about board positions. User-led Presenter: User-led presentations have proven to be among the most appre-ciated by SUGA training event attendees. Do you have a special skill, have you solved a unique problem, or are you knowledgeable about one or more SunGard applications? If so, your area of expertise would be useful to other SunGard customers, and could be shared by presenting a user-led session at a SUGA event. Event Volunteer: Helps during the training conference by working the registration desk, monitoring Labs, and gathering ballots during the business meeting elections. SUGA recognizes that your first priority is attending training sessions, so you decide your availability. Contact: Sandy Reece for more info or sign-up on the SUGA website. Click here

USER-LED SESSIONS

A common request that SUGA gets after every

training session is that users would like to see more

user led sessions. To this point, we want your help

in being a presenter at any RTE training event or

the International training conference. Join us on

stage and be a presenter. Most users are nervous

about public speaking and shy away from making a

presentation on what they do best everyday. This is

an opportunity for you to shine as a subject matter

leaders in your field. We all do great things every

day and always think that it’s nothing special

however, when you demonstrate your knowledge

things happen and others see new ideas and

possibly a solution to something that others thought

weren’t possible.

Show others your style, be energetic and most of all share yourself.

If you have questions or suggestions about wanting to be a presenter at the next SUGA training event,

please e-mail me Dan Amyot at [email protected] and thank you for your help.

The improvements to the product line is constantly growing with high expectations towards ease of use and better functionality. The IDEAS platform is one of the major sources that’s available to users to submit and/or ask questions from program developers on key software requirements that customers need to perform as part of their daily tasks. Regarding IDEAS, this past year was similar to other years, the need for SunGard Public Sector to continuously rise to the challenge of software development changes. Users are requesting a need for integration in importing and exporting from other data sources. With the constant changing and evolving at a rapid rate, some days it seems to be insurmountable and yet with time, energy and resources, things get done. A specials thanks to all those who continuously help this process, from Product Managers (PMs) from SunGard Public Sector to the numerous Application Coordinators (ACs) who volunteer their time and knowledge to help SUGA members as subject matter experts and information tour guides for the IDEAS process. If you have questions or suggestions about the IDEAS process, please e-mail them to me Aaron Bentley at [email protected]

SUGA Audit Results for Fiscal Year Ended July 31, 2016 2015-2016 Audit As a result of a thorough review of the financial statements of the SunGard Public Sector Users’ Group, it is the opinion of the audit firm of Reynolds and Franke that the financial statements presented and reviewed present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of SunGard Public Sector Users’ Group Association, Inc. (SUGA) as of July 31, 2016 and 2015, and the changes in its net assets and its cash flows for the fiscal years then ended are in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America. There were no management comments relative to any misstatements or irregularity of reporting. There were no audit findings in the form of a management letter notifying of any deficiencies, concerns or proposed changes to financial procedures which therefore resulted in an Unqualified Opinion also described as a “Clean” audit. A copy of the audit report is on file with the Board of Directors and is available upon request by contacting the SUGA Treasurer.
