Innovative Programme Nov 20, 2019 Readings from Original Texts An innovative Programme on ‘Readings from Original Texts’ was organized by Department

of Philosophy on the topic entitled ‘Theories of Perception in Indian Philosophy’ venue: Upper hall. Dr. Nilima Misra & Dr. Deepshikha Banerjee introduced the students with the objective of the programme. It was coordinated and chaired by Dr. Anurag Pandey. All students of BA (Philosophy) were invited. The original texts were read by students and explained by Dr. Anurag Pandey. The texts considered for understanding the theory of perception from different schools of Indian Philosophy were-

Interdisciplinary Special Lectures and Workshops Nov 18, 2019 Interdisciplinary Special Lecture Series on Evolution of Himalayan Landforms Resource Persons: Dr. Anand kumar Pandey, Principal Scientist, CSIR, NGRI, Hyderabad Dr. Prabha Pandey, Scientist, CSIR, NGRI, Hyderabad

Organized by departments of Geography, Economics and Sociology, the programme consisted of two lectures, namely, Evolution of Himalayan Landforms: Implications on Environment and Extreme Events and Natural Hazards: Implications on Himalayan Landforms and Socio-economics of the Region. Both the scientists highlighted the tectonic evolution of the great mountain range and discussed about safety measures like early warning system and disaster mitigation. The workshop focused on the draft of New Education Policy prepared by the Government of India. An analysis was presented by both the speakers covering all the pros and cons of the draft policy and how this new change will affect the Higher Education Institutions. Nov 20-Dec 04, 2019 A Workshop on Bihu Dance A 15 days’ workshop on Bihu dance was organized by Music Department with the collaboration of North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC), Prayagraj. Ms. Sangita Burmen, acted as resource person. In this workshop the 40 students of College had participated. They finally performed in Shilp Mela at NCZCC Campus, Prayagraj. The performance was very much appreciated and applauded by the audiences present.The college and the students received appreciation letters from the Director, NCZCC.

Organized by the department of Hindi, JTGDC in collaboration with Prakashchandra Jugmandardas Agarwal Lokhit Trust, the fest comprised of various events and competitions like Self-authored poetry recital, drama and Essay writing, in which students of different colleges of the city participated. The prize winners of the previously organized inter-collegiate essay competitions, under the aegis of the trust, were also awarded. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. Anita Gopesh, an eminent writer and professor in Dept of Zoology, University of Allahabad. Guest of Honour was Ms. Sushma Sharma and the event was chaired by Prof. Chanda Devi, Head, Department of Hindi, University of Allahabad.
