garding novel aspects of technology, application and service developmentwithin the multidisciplinary framework of Information and Communication

Technologies. It indeed provide a forum for technical exchange amongst re-

searchers from academic and industries in various emerging fields of Compu-

ting, Wireless Communication, Signal Processing, Speech and Pattern Recog-

nition, Computer Systems and Networks, Wireless Sensor Networks, Neural

Networks and Control Systems spanning, Power Electronics, Energy Manage-

ment spanning across seven tracks. IMTIC aims to bring together a wide spec-

trum of international experts to facilitate a creative environment for the promo-

tion of collaboration and knowledge transfer. In particular it will facilitate a

dialogue between major industry players, entrepreneurs and academia to helpcreate a roadmap for the development of tangible research environment in the

    country.

power crisis to rescue our next generation from such kinds of crisis.

Continuing the journey of success Electrical Department of MUET SZAB CAMPUS Khairpur Mirs organized the International Mul-ti Talent Conference with the Co-operation of Mechanical and PG Department of the Campus. Where the speakers from the re -

knowned universities of the World gathered and share their ideas and research among the students and teaching faculty of the MUETSZAB Campus Khairpur Mirs. Now-a-days where Pakistan is facing the power crisis in these conditions such sought of conference

brings a new way towards the change.

    In the Event

Respected Pro Vice Chancellor MUET SZABCAMPUS inaugurating the ceremony along

with Chief Guests of the events

    MILESTONE ACHIEVED

Professor Dr. Muhammad Wazir Mustafa from University Technology Malay-sia said that Malaysia is ready to help Pakistan at every platform. Either it is infield of Education, Power and Construction. Science is getting more ad-vanced through which we can overcome power crisis as well. There are manynew methods introduced to overcome the power and energy crisis throughwhich we can save our time, though methods are very much easy to be imple-mented.

He represents his research paper on Simulation of PMSG Based Wind Energysystem with Multi Level NPC Converter

    Professor Dr. Muhammad Wazir Mustafa

    6/10

In which he stated that: The size and power ratings of commercial wind turbines have increased in the last decade. This hasmotivated the improvement for new generator-converter wind turbine configurations with high power density , efficiency andlow maintenance. Where PMSG (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generators) have been at the forefront as compared tothe classical DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator). In this paper a new WECS configuration is explored based onthree-phase PMSG with multi-level NPC converter . The proposed converter configuration allows to elevate the low voltageat generator side to a medium-voltage at the grid side. Each three-phase terminal of the machine is connected to a full

bridge diode rectifier , followed by a dc-dc boost converter to elevate the voltage level and control the MPPT. The grid sideconverter is a multi-level NPC (Neutral Point Clamped) inverter operating at medium-voltage level.

Another guest of IMTIC15 Prof. Kamal-rul-Nizam Abu Bakar presenthis research paper on the topic of: Energy Efficient Cluster Based

    Scheme for WSN

Where he said: WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) consists of hundreds to

thousands sensor nodes that deployed randomly to gather the information

from harsh environment. Clustering divides the WSN into different sub

regions called clusters. Individual cluster is consisting of CH (Cluster

Head) and member nodes. There are different objectives for clustering

based schemes but minimize the energy consumption and prolonging net-

work lifetime are the main research issues that are focused by many re-

searchers. This research paper presents an energy efficient cluster based

scheme by dividing the network region into uniform sized square parti-

tions to minimize energy dissipation and clustering overheads.

After the Conference they visited the Project Exhibition at MUET S.Z.A.B Cam-pus Khairpur Mirs organized by the Electrical Engineering Department facultyand the students where projects were demonstrated to them. GLOBAL SYSTEM FOR MOBILE BASED PREPAID ENERGY METER is one

of the most innovative projects of student which not only reduce the light break-down but also reduce the theft activities. In this project we have used GSM tech-nology to check balance, recharge balance and generates alert message at low

balance. Microcontroller PIC 18F452 is used. It is programmed in a way that auser can turn on or off by just sending appropriate syntax by using relay. It wouldnot be unfair if it is called as an essential part of smart grid because it reduceslabor cost by sending all necessary information through messages. It is has widerange of applications which serve the people up to greater extent and made theirlife easier.

    In case of light breakdown:

The system is totally capable of withstanding light breakdown. The system is in-stalled with NVRAM (non-volatile RAM). The purpose of the NVRAM is to preservedata even when there is no supply.

    Electricity Theft Control:

The solo purpose of this project is to control electricity theft; this aspect is widelypossible here because the meter is totally digital whereas previous meters were mechani-cal which were not that much secured.

    Power Requirement:

The project is quite power friendly. Energy meter only require working on 12v DC.
