IBMR IN THE NEWS
IBMR B-School was regularly in news, with leading local dailies like Deccan Herald regularly bringing
out reports and photographs of various events and happenings at the vibrant B-School.
IBMR thanks all the media personnel for always being there as trusted friends and especially for their
continuous support with media coverage. (Collage By: Fabin Kennedy James)
FRESHER’S DAY: ‘IBMR EXPRESS’ LAUNCHED
IBMR has always come up with ‘out-of- the-box’ ideas for their Fresher’s Day parties hosted by the
seniors for their juniors. This year the juniors felt transported to the platform of bustling railway
station, complete with railway tracks, refreshments stalls, hawkers, signal posts, ticket counters and
to top it all the bilingual announcements in the perfect ‘Indian railway style’! Inspired from the
movie ‘Chennai Express’, the party really made the icebreaking hugely entertaining. Kudos to the
seniors for the event planning and management.

‘DISHA’ – A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
The postgraduate students of IBMR
were welcomed with an orientation
session which briefed them about the
institute and also gave them a taste of
the corporate world. The students found
the stress management sessions
extremely useful. Following the
orientation, the students were taken on
a tour of Bangalore city.
VISIT TO RADIO STATION
To get a taste of the entertainment
media industry, IBMR students visited
the Radio Indigo 91.9 FM, the first and
only international music station.
They were welcomes by the program
director Kiran Sridhar who introduced
them to the various departments and
functions of an FM station.
Students had an interactive session on
the scope of managerial jobs and
career opportunities in the radio
industry.
CSR
IBMR students visited the Centre for Social
Action, an NGO in LR Nagar slum area in
Bangalore, which is engaged in providing
education and sustenance for the
underprivileged children through their day care
centres, talent programmes and welfare funds.
INDUSTRY EXPOSURES
IBMR students visited The Printers Mysore Pvt. Ltd.
& also Unique Steels – two very different sectors to
get exposure into the real life business
environment. Both the visits added new
experiences for the students as these were not the
usual industries generally visited by business
management students.

‘PRADERA’ – THE FEST Students of IBMR were an excited lot as they took part in Pradera, a one-day intra-college
fest. As the name suggests, Pradera stands for the freshness of the meadows and was apt for
the youthful energy that the students gave to a first-time fest that they were organizing.
The fest divided into ‘Savana’ (Human Resources Events); ‘Steppes’ (Marketing Events);
‘Cerrados’ (Finance Events); ‘Llanos’ (Cultural Events) and ‘Pampus’ (Mad Ads) brought the
post-graduate students together for a day marked by learning and fun.
The first half of the day saw the students battling with their wit, wisdom and management ideas in
competitions organized by the marketing, finance and HR clubs, from virtual trading to brand
debates.
The evening was marked by a colourful cultural show with students grooving to popular
bollywood numbers, songs in English and regional languages, humorous skits and madads.
