What are the benefits of being a member of Akbayan-FANEW?The goal of the Akbayan organization is for all Filipinos-Americans in North East WI to have a unified community through social, recreational, and educational activities. The organization provides support to assist its members in times of need or emergencies. Most of all, it is the goal of the organization to facilitate activities that support our Filipino culture, values, and tradition.
You do not have to be a Filipino to become a member, as long as you are willing to get involved in the Akbayan activities and pay your membership.
Become part of a well respected Filipino-American organization of North East WI.
All members receive discounted rates in any paid events such as: Christmas, Valentines, Bus Trip fees., etc.
We organize charitable events for our members in need (i.e. disaster, death, illness). This is exclusively for members only! Any immediate relatives must be members to the organization.
We provide moral support to members in time of illness and death of their nonmember immediate relatives .
As an organization, we can mobilize resources from the community if needed and utilize our own manpower supports system within our organization to help one another.
Together, we can make a difference through unified supports to help others and our homeland through organized activities.
Now, we ask you to: Do the right thing; we have so much to offer within our very own Filipino-American community.

How is my membership money being spent? • $5 of the yearly membership fee from each member goes to our Aboloy Fund.
The Aboloy Fund is used to help our fellow Akbayan members for funeral flowers & donationfrom all of Akbayan-FANEW. (this is exclusively for members’ only)
• The remainder is used to help provide for the following:
Park rental (Summer & Fall)Miscellaneous correspondence, envelops, stamps, labels, (average 3x per year)Newsletter mailing & printing (2x per year)Paper, ink, miscellaneous printing for correspondencePicnic/Event supplies: paper plates, forks, spoons, napkins, drinks, garbage bags, table cover, etc.Permit feesOther supplies for activities: bingo cards, games, prizes, etc.
The officers have been creative by selling Kwik Trip gas cards and solicited business sponsors to help offset the cost of our operation.The officers also have unconditionally volunteered their time and have given monetary donation for some of the unaccounted expenses at each event. They have stepped forward to assist to make our events possible without having to ask additional money from our members.
If you know of any member who is in distress or sick, please let us know.
We would like to provide some support and assistance to our members. Please contact any of the officers.

The award will be given during our Akbayan Christmas Party on December 12, 2015
Check out some of our Akbayan members! These ladies are sharing our Philippine culture through our cultural dances. They have been performing at many private social gatherings and public venues, including a university at least once a month. They are traveling as far as Tomahawk down to Fond du Lac area. Several invitations have been turned down due to high demand.
The dancers are show casing some costumes made in delicate pineapple and banana fibers and dressed in a variety of colorful costumes captured the audiences’ interest. For every dance attire worn depicts the root influence and meaning of the dance. Prior to a dance a descriptive background is said, hence making it educational and encouraging audience participation.
